My partner and I are new to the world of webcomics, so we wanted to know how more experienced people in this subject make headlines and speech bubbles.
Any other tip is welcome

I use clip studio paint. It comes with a speech bubble tool.

I dont use it tho. I create a vector layer to create the outline of my speech bubbles
Select the space outside the bubble and invert that selection and then fill the bubble with my desired color in a raster layer. That way I can control the opacity and the color itself. Plus your own speech bubbles give the comic more personality

I use Clip Studio Paint for speech bubbles! Sometimes I still add the text using Photoshop just because it feels so familiar for me. I usually like my speech bubbles simple unless I'm doing some kind of effect to show emotion. If that's the case, I'll usually play around in Photoshop!

I use Krita for mine. I hand drawn the bubbles and use the text tool. I also made my own font

Speech bubbles in Inkscape are easy to make. I just make an ellipse, draw a curved path with a Triangle In shape sticking out, and then press Ctrl-+ to merge them together.

Not before making the text, of course.

your art program should have a text feature, so make good use of it. XD but if you are looking for text specific software, I suggest Adobe InDesign (ID). You can create things such as paragraph styles, so if you want to change your typeface half way though, its not a pain to fix. You can also adjust the kerning, and letting for readability. (I'm sure you can find a similar program like ID if you looked around)

I just use photoshop for my comic. I hand draw my bubbles in the hopes that it matches my style? If they are too neat/round it bugs me - I'm not sure why? They are more like curvy rectangles. Lol! And add text with the text tool.

I draw the bubbles by hand, any text is done in Photoshop.

i used to draw and write it all myself in sai for a very long time! But after i discovered the website calligraphr, I used that to create texts and fonts based on my own writing without needed to write every individual word now. As for speech bubbles, I now use Clip Studio Paint :stuck_out_tongue:
