What takes the most time for your comic?

Colouring for sure. I haaaate it. If I could find someone to colour the comic for me I'd hand it over in a heart beat.

Writing the damn thing takes a hell of a long time too. I don't think a single day's gone by in the ~2 years since I started that I haven't rehashed one part if the story or another. Constantly raking it over.

@AnnaLandin I totally agree with the tricky perspective detailed rooms. Doing all of my work digitally in Photoshop also adds an extra dimension of suck to this process, since drawing straight lines is dependent on the canvas angle.

That being said, I've been using a painted style for my comic because I hate myself. So, lets just say colours take a while.

making text boxes .its irritating and also making the right size in th image size option..il draw for days without complaining ,but when i have to do that one last thing my mind goes in to a meltdown

The actual drawing part, not thumbnail or inking but drawing the comic itself... I can take forever doing this just because I get distracted and it requires my full attention. Coloring/toning doesn't require my full attention so its easy enough. haha

Painting the backgrounds. I want to really show them off in some way, so I spend extra time on that.

Though, I didn't actually mind colouring so much OFF the computer, but colouring in programs... I would rather be doing pretty much anything else. Like rubbing salt on open wounds.

Hahaha seriously though, if I had to gauge how much time each individual part of the comic making process took, I would say that its probably doing the rough draft. Since I don't bother with scripts, that means coming up with how I want my comic to both look and narratively speaking flow from panel to panel, page to page in my head. Once I do that, the rest comes fairly easy for me.

Upload. My internet sucks, so it's either try to upload 10 to 29 times or trudge over to the cafe with actually decent wifi

The lineart is what takes the most time for me... around 2h~3h for a full page, even though is black and white.

Coloring feels like it takes up most of the time. I've never liked coloring. It has always bored me to tears. I hardly ever touched my coloring books as a child.
But the thing that probably takes up the most time is the physical drawing. I often sketch and ink at the same time. And since this is the part of the process that I enjoy the most I often spend more time with it.
And when I have to color it I always regret that I spent so much time on it.

Probably colouring. I mean, it's better than real colouring; the colours don't smudge or leave little gaps in the paper, but it's still the longest process of any page I make, and therefore the most tedious.

Coloring takes most of my time. While flat color use may sound simple, I use specific colors on most parts of the comic so I end up saving each to a separate color file.

Thumbnailing, I'd say. Like, figuring out the page's composition. It's a bit boring, and takes the most making something from nothing, so I tend to take the longest on it.

Depending on the page - sometimes I struggle with the balloons' position or with the colour balance. Generally though, the lineart takes the most effort/time for me. I like drawing loose and it can take forever to just clean up a sketch.

Like most people, coloring takes the longest amount of time o3o But more specifically, backgrounds take foreeeveerrrr. LIke an awkward amount of time XD They don't even look very good half the time.

Inking for sure, though I really like to do it. After that the shading takes the longest. Thankfully the comic style I go with is more cellshaded, animation looking. I cannot imagine how you folks doing painterly comics get anything done. So much respect to the artists that do the painted look, because I'd go INSANE!!
