@Greg_Dickson Oh jeez, @zaksimmondshurn is such an inspiration. Couldn't agree more. XD Oh gosh, was he really your first comment?! That's so dang cool!

@Rhyzue Haha, well you don't have to. It's just a site where it's really easy to interact with fans of a certain thing. There is literally a subreddit for anything, and it's really nice if you want to know about the latest news from your favorite thing, or just interact with people that like the same thing you do.

Also, because of the karma system and tough moderators, you don't find too many toxic subreddits which is nice. Depends where you look though, I guess.

@Michelle Are bad OCs just a phase everyone goes through? XD It's like....weird awkward art puberty, but instead of voice cracks and pimples, you get "super original do not stealz" OCs.

...Mmm....yap. Seems accurate enough.

I think so >u>; I chalk it up to not having enough experiences when you're a really young artist, so everything you make ends up being very blatantly derivative of the media you consume without any unique input.

"Finally! A real human being liked my work enough to comment on it!"

To me every single comment I get on anything I do feel like "my first comment". It makes me feel happy that people care enough for my content and I so often find myself sitting there refreshing a page to wait for a comment to pop up LMAO (Hence why my readers usually go YOU REPLY SO FAST)

@69Erocento Oh gosh! I'm not going to lie, I'll probably be doing the exact same thing soon enough!

Although, I worry about fast replies... They'll suspect my desperate page refreshing habits. XD Ha, ha.

I don't remember who was first, but I did get a first "my children" comment today which was wild. I feel like it's a good milestone when people feel that protective over your fictional people.

@joannekwan omg I love your comics and I comment on them all the time!! Haha I hope I'm not being too weird! Sometimes I feel like I am too over-bearing showering people with affection since I am so outgoing and I wonder if I am making people a bit uncomfortable with my likes and comments!

It was really nice! As you say, the vast majority of readers are silent, so getting a comment is always fun - and on the whole, 99% of my commenting readers are lovely and thoughtful. <3 My first Tapastic comment was (not verbatim) "Oh wow, look at this artwork! I can tell this comic is going to be REALLY popular here!"

And what do you know - my first commenter could apparently see into the future! : D

Getting comments on your comics means so much to creators, because likes - while they're a nice thumbs-up - are also silent and something I'm unable to respond to. Not getting comments makes me feel like I'm shouting into the void, and getting nothing back.

Comments really DO make my day!

I think first comment I ever got was either 'nice' or 'fix that anatomy yo' style of thing, 2005. I didin't get comfy around internet till last year so I held back with posting art and comments. Tapastic is probably first community I actually feel part of.

That being said getting comments is always great. Someone actually bothered to type it. I still get very excited when I get one and I tend to leave a lot of comments to others, especially if they're just starting out or haven't found their audience yet.

@mrjonzap I worry about this all the time! D: ...I get really nervous and think, "Oh gosh. If I comment on every new page I'll come off as a weird stalker..." ;u;

@AnnaLandin Aww, I know! Wish more readers knew how special they make creators feel when they reach out with a comment. I guess there's a bit of a tenativeness to disturb the creator, or perhaps people think their comment will never be seen. Or maybe readers just forget that there is a human being behind the creation... D:

@joannekwan Oh man, sometimes I get a little stage fright in your comment section because people are so creative, I kinda wonder, "Oh dear, what hasn't already been said?" Haha! XD

I remember the fist comment that I had clearly, it was about how he/she loved the way my action series was going since it is a action comic based on a storyline n all, that was when I knew that I'm getting somewhere with my comic and don't need to be discouraged because there are people out there who would love to read my comic.
Unfortunately I can't get to the page now to mention the name of my subscriber that posted it my mum's yelling my name into the sky right now so I gotta go for sometime but I remember it was around episode 12 to 19 that the comment was made before I got some other comments on my earlier episodes

@JessJackdaw I am well aware of my stalkerish tendencies but idgaf, I love the comic and if there's something worth commenting on I will comment... I do worry about it sometimes though, so I only save my comments for when I have something really witty/sassy/funny to say haha

@Greg_Dickson Thanks for the kind words Greg, I'm really touched that my comment had such an effect :') . Keep up the great work buddy, your work's going from strength to strength!

@JessJackdaw Aw, cheers Jess! Looking forward to seeing your comic when you're ready to start posting.

LMFAO I'm usually fast reply in general because I'm always at my computer 24/7. And people seem to like the fast reply so I just keep it up > : D

Oh yes, I'm always behind on the news. I didn't even know what pokemon go was until yesterday when a friend mentioned it XD
I'm hoping twitter will make up for my lack of knowledge hahaha

When I recieved my 1st comment on my comic....
I read it like 10 times, felt super happy and ran downstairs to tell my mom.... yes >.>......

NO NO, I gotta be honest, I'm stupidly verbose with awesome work like yours because it's immediately accessible, exciting, and evocative. Like, I just started reading Heavy Horns because Erie Waters ended and I was like, "I've seen this around, I wonder how it is?" And yeah, right in, it is bloody awesome. You manage some of the most incredible comics -- the writing, the characters, the ART culminates to make these amazing, fabulous stories that draw you right in.

SO YES, it just comes tumbling outta me because it's crazy rare to find such ace content consistently from an artist/creator. You slayin', man, you slayin'. I deeply enjoy looking through work that's being approached with passion and man alive, tapastic has a grand amount of brilliantly passionate people!
