What, like universally, or just in comics/writing?

Universally, it's that humans aren't that important in the grand scheme of the universe. I think the galaxy of beings greater than us is at least as vast as the galaxy of beings less than us.

Another one is that the true nature of reality is literally unknowable to you or to any humans and the best we can do is an agreed upon common mental model of the world around us as constructed by our various senses.

It bothers me how often in “dark” and realistic” media, cruelty and ruthlessness is portrayed as effective and efficient.

For example: torture is always shown to be effective method of gaining information, when in reality it is incredibly unreliable.

Even self professing "black pilled" people have a hard time swallowing it completely. Because once it's completely swallowed, you're forced with two choices: transcend or end.

And if you think this is a recent trendy thing started by incels on 4chan and reddit... this was around since ancient times. The spiritual core of every religion has it one way or another. Look beyond the mainstream false religions made in the image of EGO. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened to you.

It is okay to feel the feelings when you are feeling them. Not everything will go right but it doesn’t mean you failed. There is always a second chance.
Be kind to those around you.
People will change and can change.
What you do affects the people around you even if you think it or not.

No one is immune to propaganda, but if you also have little emotional intelligence you are extra vulnerable to it, because propaganda targets emotions, not facts.

Clever people get drawn into cult thinking all the time, and then get pushed farther in because people think that you need to be dumb to fall for it and mock the victims. All you really need to fall for scientology, zizianism or the black pill is to be lonely and vulnerable and for someone to come and tell you that you're an esteemed friend if you believe what they believe. Saying you're a part of any of these groups, to anyone outside of the cult, just tells us that you're really lonely and at one point you were willing to give up happiness and control of your life and emotions just to feel less scared and alone, and that's really sad.

Walt Disney was building up a media empire during a time when animated movies and tv were brand new. He was a business man more so than an artist.

If you are a creator, just focus on creating your work. Don't get stuck in some weird scenario in your imagination where your piece of work is rivaling Disney.

Incel and Andrew Tate-style ideology is a huge threat and already has so much influence over the minds of young men. It's already been used as a justification to commit murder by a few men, and it needs to be properly addressed. I daresay that we're seeing a hard comeback of misogyny and nobody talks about this much.

Also: Doomerism and pessimism is not going to get you anywhere and will only make suicidal people feel worse. If you want change, get out there and do something positive rather than bitching about it on social media

I am meeting my counselor for the first time today. Had some pretty scary intrusive thoughts as of late.

There is no divine justice. No one is coming to stop the bad guys from doing what they want no matter how good of a person you are. Whenever evil does get defeated, irreversible damage is already done.

@NickRowler It's the same with other industries too. No new business today will be able to rival or take down any of the household names that have been here for decades even centuries. The only way a new company can make big money is if they get bought out.

@ButterflyEmpress as someone growing up in the LDS Church and trying to distance myself from the dogmas that I have been taught, this is what I needed to hear.

It’s complicated and I won’t be getting into the details but it’s something I am working through with the counselor I am meeting with just to work through the massive cognitive dissonance. Also just working out growing up in general not only in the religious aspect. I always wanted to please my parents so I just blindly followed what they had to say. I didn’t want to cause any trouble so I just was the goody two shoes oldest sister. I didn’t want to do that anymore. I always felt shame for never being enough.

All I’m saying is, you brought up an interesting point that there is no divine justice. A lot of people I knew just used their beliefs to justify their actions in hating others which to me is crazy.

It will happen to all of us one way or another. So don't be too attached to whatever good or bad you have in life. Don't make it into your whole identity. That's a recipe for suffering.
