Simple as that, How long a forum thread can live on tapas? at wich point it's drowns below the newer threads

I know that this will vary greatly from thread to thread, there are some that are just not interesting for the comunity, others that the topic demands further discussion and others that might be appealing but don't ask to last to much on the spotlight.

What do you think ?what's the average lifespan of a thread in which specific case? What are the most appealing kind of threads? and also, How and how much can you extend the life of a forum's thread?

Actually it can last forever when someone overlooks the fact that the thread hasn't been replied to in over a year.

But that's necroposting xD! it's an evilform of witchcraft that's frown upon!

No purposefully replying to the oldest post is necroposting. Not realizing that the post hasn't been replied to in over a decade is when you notice someone isn't the best reader. (Keep that in mind novelists.)

Based on what i have seen:

Most posts last around a day

some that are more interesting may last around 3-5 days

Also, there are a couple of outstanding cases that lasted a year and are still going.

That also doesn't sound like a bad idea for a story. An internet post that keeps you immortal as long as people reply to it.

Would be like "you age as long the post has no replies, once someone reply to you recover years from your life" neat

Threads about critiquing/reviewing can last a while. I think mine has been up for two weeks, but to be fair, I am slower this time around.

And in this story the main cause of trolling would be people desperately trying to get others to keep replying to their thread by catching their interest through offense :o

-Looking for artist (UNPAID) are the first to die :joy:
- threads asking for your opinion tend to last 2-3 days.
-Threads that ask you to post your work seems to last a few days and then come back when new users find it and want to post their stuff too.
- Cross-promo is another one that gets resurrected when new people join.
