This is going back a ways now, coz I read the very start of Burning Bright a while back, and at the time it reminded me of my old best friend, Mel. She had a big messy room too, and I would often be over at her place after school, just hanging out doing not much of anything like these two.
I just caught up now and it's gone in a very different, (very interesting) direction. At the moment it seems like the two kids aren't taking their situation as seriously as they should, and I'm anticipating that the reality of where they've found themselves is going to hit them hard at some point. With the great map you drew, the invented language, and the theme of 'normal' folk in a strange land, full of strange and dangerous people and creatures, I have to say now it reminds me most of LOTR, of which I'm a huge fan of the books and movies. I really like how your story takes on the fantasy setting from the viewpoint of two modern-day teens though. A very cool twist.
My comic is called The Woken.
