Classical anti heros. I do some modern versions of anti heros in my work but classical ones always stuck with me like Poe's and Kafka's work. People who've hit a rock and hard a place and almost deteriorate as a human being.

I love making maternal characters. They're not always women or in parent roles, but I have a soft spot for making characters that are comforting, very easy to open up to, supportive, and endearing. Of course, I also love putting those characters in out of place settings sometimes to make their personality a bit warped (like Horror, for example ^^).

I don't think I have found my character type yet. I try to make a conscious effort to always mix it up. I did and do a lot of Roleplaying (Pen&Paper, LARP) and it's boring to make your characters to similar there. Some of my inspirations originated from there, so I think my character roaster is pretty varied right now. I haven't written a lot yet, so over time I may discover my type a little more ^^

That being said I have certain character traits I give a lot of them. Many of my characters have a short temper, many of them see themselves as disconnected from the rest of the world (either because of arrogance or as a reaction to being ostracized) and many of them have a strong moral compass they follow (as misguided as it may be). It is important to me that my characters are driven individuals. They need to have some goals or an agenda, they want to follow.

So I guess I write a lot short tempered, but independent outsiders, with big goals they want to achieve.

i always seem to be writing kinda sorta assholes with hearts of gold. But like instead of keeping them that way i actually make them develop until theyre not assholes anymore and are actually kinda decent people. think if regina george from mean girls got a redemption arc.

I tend to write characters that are poor. I don't know why, I like drawing their tiny houses.

I also seem to be drawn to characters with mixed families. Be it from adoption or having a biracial character. This is mostly just based off my own family.

Also awkward people with anxiety.

the kind, thoughtful types with one or more insecurities. i love it when they realize they're awesome just the way they are.. makes me happy.

i really like snarky characters also. something bout that dry humor.. gets me every time.

Super sarcastic, clumsy, and often reserved in a way. I also like to write quiet and blunt characters.

I realized recently that my type I write, is also the type of characters that I ship. Wtf me.

Characters with dark pasts. Also characters that are not normal I have some with cat ears, one with cat like eyes, and some characters with blunt personalities that are hiding something.

Grumpy characters who show a softer side if you can earn their trust. It’s fun writing them coming out of their prickly shells.
