I like Visual Kei Jrock, like D.I.D. Until The Day I Die, Kizu, Deathgaze, Killaneth, Zi:Kill, Malice Mizer, Moi Dix Mois, Shiva, The Micro Head 4ns, Mix Speakers Inc, Damyjaw, Baiser, Versaillies, D, hide, Nega, The Black Swan, Dadaroma and hundreds more.
These bands and more heavily inspire everything I do with my world building and writing.

Free Form Jazz, Gospel, Ska-Punk and R&B. Sometimes I get combos of these genres and it blows my mind.

I like R&B and jazz sometimes too, I actually found out J-Ska from a jrock video , old noir film style songs like Why Don't You Do Right are also another of my favs.

Visual Kei and jrock bands like DIV, Alice Nine, Moran, heidi., vistlip, Kagrra,, Unite. and many many more (Including some you mentioned.). I also enjoy modern rock, metalcore, "emo stuff", and sometimes I pick up bands and artists to listen to from various genres. But in general it has to have that rock sound to it.

I mostly listen to indie rock including a lot of Canadian bands, rock alternative (HUGE fan of Muse), kpop, and some EDM! I'm always open to listening to new genres and sounds, though.

Classic Rock, Metal, Classical, Blues and certain soundtracks like Persona (don't know what to call it but Jpop, but I want to listen to more stuff like that specifically)

Also listening to crappy period music like 90s punk/boy bands or 80s hairbands like RATT or even bad 70s disco is a pleasure of mine.

take off Rap, jazz and anything with a constant beat that just gives me head ache and i like all the other music left. I tend to go by songs more than bands/ artists.

Gonna be honest mostly video game OST's or some JPOP from random games I enjoy. I honestly haven't listened to traditional music in some time and I don't really have a way to, but I also love Rock Music.

Favourite would be punk, still enjoy pop-punk and metal.
Also a big fan of video game and animes OSTs.

I usually associate a song to my characters based on what their role in the story is and their personality

Ooh boy I remember when I was on a j-rock kick. I don't listen to that anymore but I did used to. A lot. For nostalgic reasons my favorite music genre is western swing, but as for what I listen to on a routine basis, it's rockabilly and psychobilly (sasquatch and the sickabillys for example), blues-punk (like scott h. biram), and europop (quest pistols for example). I also like to listen to house music.

I'm super into more hipster-y stuff, i.e Hobo Johnson, Angus & Julia Stone, Everything Everything, alt-J (love me some Breezeblocks) Bright Eyes, Foals, Syd Matters, stuff like that ^^ If I can recommend a single album, listen to Down the Way (by Angus & Julia Stone, it's so calming and so wonderful. My favorite song from the album is Santa Monica Dream).

I'm also a long-time k-pop fan. My husband and I both really like BTS, Day 6, Twice, etc, and Big Bang and Super Junior will forever have a special place in my heart.

I'm also obsessed with classical music and instrumental piano pieces, both classical and contemporary. Sometimes I listen to pop, and I love my Mother Monster, because I'm born this way, baby, but you know

I always make playlists in the mood and general tone for each story I write, and I listen to it while I work. Keeps the muse fired up!

I feel you on that, music has the effect of making writing a lot more enjoyable. I love Big Bang and Super Junior, recently got into BTS
