Which Armor Design should I use?

As you guys may know, I'm working on a Sentai-Inspired webcomic called DRGN (Dragon Robots Gone Nitro) and I recently drew up a few WIP designs for the individual team member's chest armor and I'd like to hear your guys' opinions on each of them.

NOTE: These are all WIPs for the most part and are subject to change and these are mostly just the rough ideas I have for them.

Option 1: Elemental Kanji

Option 2: Team Emblem

Option 2.5: Team Emblem with Elemental Effects

Option 3: Elemental Patterns

Honestly I think the first and third designs are best.
The middle ones imo are kind of messy? I like that each knight has their own design, and that the designs are minimalistic, so it'll be easier to recreate. Hope that helped!

edit: if I had to choose between 1 and 3, I'd pick 3. I really like that design.

Honestly, I feel option 3 works the best for the color scheme and over all look of the armor. Its more simple than the elemental kanji set, so it will be easier when drawing your panels. The elemental patterns just have this geometrical resonance with the armor shapes that I feel would look really great!

Thanks! I actually had a bit of trouble with trying to get a geometric water pattern for Selena's armor, so I might still work on that a bit more.

i like the elemental designs, particularly the elemental patterns. they keep things simple and geometric. youll thank God for them when youre on page fifty drawing the same armour again and again

It's definitely nice though, it contrast the other armor pieces well. Circles are a good symbol for fluidity too

Thanks! yeah, I'm definitely keeping the circle pattern. Might rearrange it a bit to see if I can make it look better.

I agree with the above and prefer the option 3 "elemental patterns". They have a simple and neat design that I like quite much.

The first option "Elemental Kanji" is also good. I really like the one for Bryce and also Huky, for the rest I think they could look better with simpler decorations around the kanjis.

Thanks for all the great comments! I think I will continue to tweak and experiment with the designs, but I will definitely go with option 3 as the baseline!

Also, is it pretty clear which element which pattern on the armor in Option 3 represents (while not referring to the Option 1 kanji for hints)? Because if not, then I might need to do some more tweaking on them then. Thanks for the help!

You settled on the elemental icons, right? That's good. The only one I disliked was option 2.5 which looked messy like the armors had been splattered with something.

Yeah, Selena's armor was it appears here looks like someone painted boobs on the chest piece. You could try rearranging the circles to make them less balanced. You could drop the circles altogether and instead use a tidal wave or an abstract shape. Her element is water, right? That could be any shape.

Thanks! I settled on the third one (Geometric elemental patterns). As for Selena, I am thinking of going for a more wave like pattern as a rework. I did circles as a test run because each of the team members are a associated with a different shape (Flare=Triangle, Takeru=Diamond, Bryce=Hexagon, Huky=Square, Zephyr=Wavy Line, Selena=Circle).

Also, Option 2.5 was inspired by the DX Ninja suits from Ninjago with the whole "dragon breathing out its wearer's element" design.
