I find that for different stages in the process, some characters are more of a pain in the ass to draw than others lol

Pablo has the busiest design and I'm too committed to simplify it so I just deal with it lol

Honestly, it's really when it comes to the action scenes that I'm like oh god I hate drawing this because objects with clean and intentioned forms are harder to get right take for example a:

Motorbike

Or a sniper rifle

I think my least favorite to draw is James...there's just something about him that makes it hard for my hand to get right in the first few tries!? Probably cause he doesn't crazy throws and everything cause perspective is also quite hard to get right

Anyways....everything is hard to draw lol

@delladz Action scenes are tough to draw considering the amount of choreography and angle changes needed to sell the fight. Props to you for taking on that challenge especially with the rifle and motorcycle.

Probably the director, I don't know why 'middle aged man' is such a difficult category for me to draw, but as you can see sometimes it doesn't turn out so well lol

This one I had to fix in post a few months later when my art skills improved

Wow this took me a while to think about! But I think Its going to be my character "Ischter"

He is a Drakesh (Dragon person) and dragons are a bit hard for me to draw, I had to come up with a way to draw him that made sense and still fit within the rest of the comic but everytime I drew him it was always a challange!

Just so difficult and he's coming back in the story now so I gotta get my butt up and draw him again xDDD I just had to have dragon folk in my fantasy setting :triumph:

This dang old lady. SO. MANY. CIRCLES. Do you know which art program has really really sucky brush dynamics that make drawing circles hair-tearingly frustrating? Do you know which art program I used to draw this entire chapter in? Yea.... :sob:

My girl Sanariya. I have to maintain her look, poise & subtlety. Her face is designed specifically it's so easy to spot if I drew her a bit 'off'. In the meantime she has to look good with her beak in angles like this.

Her pseudo-hair also might be the hardest part to draw (hardest from the side-profile view) I'm still can't shape her hair right everytime.

She's one of my characters closest towards the edge of 'uncanny valley' because of her more close-to-real-life eyes & mid-section body... I have to find ways to minimize the sexiness for SFW. (see what i got myself into )

I wish I could say it was someone with a bunch of details, but it's Eugene. Eugene and all his proportions that are really hard to maintain whether he's 13 or 25 :pumpkin:
At this point I believe he'll forever be the hardest character to draw x)

At the moment drawing Victorian clothing is a new thing for me though fun to draw, it’s not easy but I’ll get there! All the puffy sleeves and lace and hats, it’s a joy to see it looking good!

Elsie is nothing like I’ve done before so it’ll be a new challenge! In all aspects!

Drawing her has been one of the biggest struggles of making my comic so far

I wanted her to look really unnaturally beautiful but that is a lot of pressure as an artist lol

My main character. Because wings. Why did I have to make a main character that can grow wings out of his back?!?

The reason his hair was blue at the beginning but is white now is explained in the story (short version: it's naturally white, he used to dye it, when he figured out how to shapeshift the blue dye went away). But those wings! They take me way too long and I am never happy with them.

I'm about to give such a lame anwser. My designs stay pretty simple so they're never an issue really.
The pages aren't out yet, but this DAMN OUTFIT AND DESIGN gave me so much more trouble than I wanted.

Okay, hear me out. The faded brown to orange hair, the weird spikey jacket thingy, the fact that her jacket and top AND pants are slightly different shades of black. Her eye makeup. Her wavy hair (wavy hair is so annoying for me to draw... and despite that I made most of the characters wear that hair texture :|). The earings.... I HAD TO DRAW THIS 30+ TIMES!! It's really not that bad compared to some other designs in this thread, but as someone who prides myself on easy to draw designs, this felt bad.

So, as of now, the hardest character in Light Rising to draw has been Sora in said design.
