Who likes fantasy action in comics?

Hello guys, I'm working on a comic since august. I'm the kind of writer who likes to put action, drama and fantasy together on a progresive kind of screenplay. The problem is that I'm not feeling that my story is much acceptable here. I have a good performance on webtoons, but on Tapas is a bit hard to get readers engaged. I'm not sure if its the story style's fault or if it is happening because I don't color all pages, I prefer screentones, but I color some special pages. Has anyone experencing the same? Its matter of luck, marketing or a matter of taste of the community? I'm just curious, because I could take this as a reminder for a next project.

I'm also working on a fantasy comic and so far my experience is kind of weird. I got my prologue to the daily snack and my series in the "New and Noteworthy" section, got around 1030 subs with that.
But when the features went away, the number just slowly decreased as I posted the first chapters oops

The Tapas community is very mixed, but you will see a lot of readers on more gag-a-day strips than long form. You may not want to rely on Tapas unless you already have a large following that can carry over. The best you should do is diversify where you upload, just to test the waters. Like here at Tapas, my four panel stories did moderately well. My current long form is not doing as well.

However my long form is getting a lot of views and new readers from Webtoons. So I just upload to both.

I've been to several platforms before coming to tapas, and my experience has been very mixed. In general, fantasy is not a very popular comic genre. Goblins of Razard has been on tapas for a while now, and it does okay. From the comments I feel like people don't really "get it" all the time. shrug

I don't think you need to change your comic in any way. It's freaking gorgeous and I think it would be a disservice to color it (not because your colors aren't good, they are, but its so rare to find a true screentoned manga like yours).

Also, webtoons population is WAY larger than tapas.

Been following Azura's Heart for a while! I don't think there's anything specific you could point to and say "change THAT and you'll get more readers." The art is lovely and consistent, the action is engaging. To be honest I'm kind of hoping we get back to Arabella's POV soon since she's the protag and all, but I'm very curious to know what's up with her new "Friends" too.

I think the thing you have to remember about Tapas is that they're not really going out of their way to promote things that they aren't already convinced of being successful. They really push their premium line and are scouting heavily from other sites where works have already become popular. To trend at all it's really up to you to draw in an audience from off site.

I'd recommend building up a social media presence if you haven't already, and then just focus on making your comic the best it can be, and not worry about trying to tick any of Tapas' popularity boxes.

I know the feeling—my own long-form story comics haven't been getting a lot of traction, and I'm not sure if it's just because I'm bad at advertising or if I'm pushing to the wrong audience. Like others have said, gag-a-day comics seem to perform better than long-form ones, so it might just be the audience. That said, it doesn't hurt to keep uploading to Tapas, so I just keep plugging along anyway, haha.

At any rate, fantasy drama is easily one of my favorite genres, so I'll have to give your comic a read!
