At the time I made this post there was a lot of smack talk going around Twitter and Reddit and some parts of Tumblr I guess. "Everyone" was a bit of an overstatement, but yeah.
This was about a month ago, and it's sorta blown over at this point. I don't get why this post is so popular again. I'm thinking about asking the mods to lock the thread because it's mostly devolved into a platform for people to complain about BL and LGBTQ+ issues, and I feel like the posts that aren't about that have answered my question and given good advice and general ideas about how to improve tapas's public image as a community.
If this thread IS going to continue and people still want to have a discussion about this I would like to see the topic shift more towards what creators and community members can do to help improve tapas's public image, and perhaps also discuss things we as a community can do to improve the site and make it more accessible, as long as that part of the discussion isn't centered around BL again.
(At this point I'm not really talking directly to you anymore @silencelibrarian)
If you have a problem with BL and it's "oversaturation" the solution isn't to complain about it and attack creators for making it, it's to make more of the things you would rather see and support the things that you want to see more of. I would love it if instead of BL witchhunt posts we saw posts like "Hey what are some good Sci Fi/Superhero/Action/Drama comics" type of posts. Basically, give love to the underexposed genres, not hate to the popular stuff.
