They could just be asking about the next scheduled update.

You're more optimistic than me XD

But I'm more focused on people who say this when they should already know when things are coming out or people who already know but just want to try and rush me.

I always tell people when to expect my work (unless something comes up). And there are certain days I post things. I haven't posted yet to Tapas, but if I explicitly say "this comic is scheduled for Monday and Friday" and someone asks on a Tuesday "when's the next page" -- they didn't bother to read.

"Looks cool" no fav.
This really doesn't tell me anything. I don't know what I did right or how do I improve. It doesnt even help me get to know you so I can give you what you want. At least if you fav I can do a comparison of the things you actually like and don't really like.

"You should do [xyz] like zootopia or blacksad" we already have a blacksad and zootopia. Support those guys if your that serious. My goal isn't to be a duplicate of something already successfully done. Who would that help? I want to fill a gap. That's why it's fundamentally different. It may not be successful but worst case I'm creating something others can do better.

"Why don't you get it funded and turn it into an animated movie instead of just a webcomic" Because I'm just a webcomic artist. I take pride in doing "meaningful" things with "meaningless" things. Someones gotta do it.

"Uh another furry artist"

I haven't gotten any mean comments yet, but I've gotten one that was like
"wait, i'm confused"
which is perfectly ok, but that means I didn't do a very good job as a storyteller

My series Life of an Aspie is so low profile that I've avoided the "bad" comments that other creators get. That said, I'm more inclined to respond to genuine comments than low effort "keep up the great work" type of comments or any where someone's freaking out about a ship/possible ship. I prefer good conversation as a creator since imo there's not really much you can talk about when someone gives your work a compliment versus someone who actually has something of value to say or that they want to ask specifically.

what a weird moment to do an Evangelion reference.....
(aparently that actually happened in Evangelion)

I dont know why some people think webcomics are the "poor man`s porn"

I don't really notice anything on Tapastic. Frankly, I barely get comments here but I swear to god, people on Line, as much as I use the site, act like they have some kind of right. While not all these comments have been on mine, I've certainly seen them through many different series.

"Your updates are too short."

"Your art needs to get better"

"Shipping Comment."

I'll make my work as long or as short as I want it to be. You aren't the artist here, I am and I'll draw it however I want. And as far as the last one, well you're lucky an iceberg hasn't hit yet. The last one's more personal but it always feel that people care more for their precious relationship than the actual story and development in the series.

Quite honestly, Line's gotten really annoying with it, and since there's almost no way to really get any control over it, there's not much you can do. The random "Report" button only goes so far.

At least with Tapastic, comments can't hide behind a state of anonymity. .

Though I don't get any irritating comments on my stuff (so far) ,
when looking through other people's comics it really triggers me when someone makes a lewd comment...
Like seriously, leave the dirty thoughts to yourself, please....

This one has been bugging me..
"why are all of the un-main character guys so fugly _ like*blinded by the deformity* "
the comment does continue by talking about how the main guy characters are hot, which is nice, but like I wasn't trying to make my side characters blinded by deformity. I mean I know my art and anatomy are far from perfect, but like I thought they looked better than deformed XD. It stung alittle to read that.

Your un-main characters look perfectly hot!
If it makes you feel better, unimportant characters are actually sometimes meant to look low quality.. Because they're not as important, you know

haha thanks! They'e so boxy looking. But man that comment totally took me off guard. Like how many amateur artists bother to spend a lot of time on the side characters? I think their expectations are a bit high XD.

Hey, I actually got the opposite! They keep saying my girls look like guys and therefore "unattractive as girls" 'cause they have short hair and one of them actually works out SO SHE IS A LITTLE BUFF YEAH UMMM

I didn't get any annoying comments yet, but I just wonder what goes through heads of people who feel the need to comment on how much they would like to see two characters bang, no matter the situation they're in at the moment.

I had an update where somehow I confused everyone, and frankly, I was confused about what was confusing, so I just....went with it and hoped that it sorted itself out. o_o

None here on Tapas, but on webtoons...

What, you want a prize for being the first and second?

Yeah I get those too and I'm not sure what they're about XD

Someone one week posted they were first like hours after my update and they were clearly not first... it was weird, not sure if they were making a joke or not XD

I'm not saying bad things should happen to people, but I am saying that if someone who's response is just "first" spontaneously combusted on the spot, little would be lost in the world.
