I've been posting some comics on Tapas for over six months now and I felt it might be time to directly seek some input. My comic is in a choose your own adventure style. I update every Thursday and each 'episode' is a stand aone piece. Each with a different theme/story/arstyle etc. Below I link to m…

It depends what you mean by best art. In a comic the art is important in shaping the narrative. No one artistic style wins over the others. It will vary from arrative to narrative. A plain background and stick figures can work for some comics, while detailed backgrounds and hyperrealism might work f…

It's hard to make a suggestion without reading the comic. The answer will be whatever enhances the storytelling best. The style of art, the colouring etc, can be very important in mood setting. It all depends on what you want to achieve.

Not having a family helps! I get into a routine sometimes and then I'm very productive. But I travel for work often, and then I lose the rhythm. I also have other artistic interests, which steal time from each other. It's tough, but I like creating, so I keep at it.

Mine is a weekly 'interactive' comic. With each edition having a different theme ranging from trying to buy a house to escaping from a monster to finding water in a desert. There are links to each of those randomly chosen examples there...

I think the really common ones have all been stated. Student is I reckon the most popular! My that might just reflect the stage of life the writers find themselves in, and it might also reflect the fact that high school/ university student is a character almost everyone can identify with. I just c…

I would agree, I'd want to go for some more story based comedy in particular. Comedy that is not just observational. And more absurdist comedy.

I go through periods of inactivity (or periods where my attention shifts to other things). I don't think I could manage having to do it as I go along. I find it much easier to do several at once, then take a break. But everyone's different, some others might need to work on something steadily to kee…

I'll give a 5/10, because I don't know what weapons are affixed to that aircraft. Or if it is really an aircraft or some other contraption.

If you can justify something in terms of the narrative then anything goes. As long as there are good artistic reasons for doing things no one sensible will object. It's all about the context.

I instead took to hiding in bushes around no parking zones, and yelling ‘AVAST’ at any would be deviants.

Hmmm, if anyone is still reading... my fifth was a story about an evil gang of pastry chefs. The tenth was a parody of Moby Dick, and the 20th was a parody of the video game resident evil. See below: There's no progression here. Each is deliberately a different art style. The one I drew fi…

I had almost a years worth of material when I started (if I keep weekly updates). About 6 months left!

Both are necessary to make a comic work. That's what's important about the medium, you tell a story through both words and pictures. If either is off it won't be as compelling. But like @WriterLinXiaolong said, the art is what attracts me. Of course there are more experimental comics which might s…

That saying comes from Shakespeare's King John. There it was intended to mean using the same tactics as your opponent.

I'll also request a review. My comic is somewhat different. They are all conected by the interactive theme, but each one is a stand alon piece, with different themes and different art styles. I link to a few examples, but feel free to look at others. I've never been the biggest fan of numb…

I have sometimes removed comics from my list when I have unable to keep up with them. I always add things that I want to read, but sometimes I just can't keep up. There is really a lot of good stuff being created, and no nearly enough time to look at it...

Here's a new comic I really love (not mine). Also check out his website for a more interactive version.

Your art style is somewhat compelling! I haven't read through the whole thing yet, but I do want to read some more! My own is certainly a niche experimental comic, and sometimes it is weird, and sometimes its not. Each installment is a standalone piece. I choose two examples to share. Feel free…

Currently enjoying Mahler's 5th Symphony

I make art to keep it at bay. I paint or make comics, among other things. I do a style of comic that allows me to write easily.

I think if there's one good rule for icon art is that it should be simple!

I've been thinking about this lately. I check the fresh comics section most days (it's usually the only way to locate more obscure works), and I noticed that I usually only open a comic if the art is somehow interesting. The title attracts me much less. I originally just choose a snapshat of a ch…

Drawing with fingers on a phone? I'm impressed.

I don't put easter eggs in my current series, but in a previous set a dead rat made an appearance somewhere in every page.

Do witches in Oz associate with Canadian associates of witch killers?

I recently found this from @derekachoy : You may like the art style here. It is a choose your path style comic (like mine) but with a pixely art style. I'm tempted to try pixel art for one of mine.

I like creating. Building things. It's satisfying to finish any comic, any artwork. But what I appreciate more is when people read my work, and tell me they enjoy it. It's satisfying to create something that someone else enjoys.
