Yeah. Honestly I just about stopped bothering coming here completely, outside of the VERY few comics that are still on here only. You're exactly right about the art too. The same, exact soulless style every single time. Shame too, 'cause this was once upon a time my favorite website, I'd come here d…
I've been giving it more and more thought. I used to come here repeatedly every day, now I barely check in once every two or three days. This website has gone downhill rapidly with the redesign. Only reason I keep coming back is because this website is looser with certain regulations Webtoons is ana…
As the title says, I've been getting flooded with notifications from Tapas itself about comics its shilling for, and I am quite beyond sick of it at this point. In the past two days I've had SEVEN notifications, only one of them was from someone I'm actually following because I care about their cont…
Tapas: Clean up the user interface when reading. Webtoons UNDERSTANDS this, the bar at the top is small and compact, and it fades away when you're reading or you click it away. That isn't an option on Tapas and hasn't been for far too long. On my laptop up to 30-40% of the screen is taken up by o…
So what does this mean for the platform? Is it going to run same as usual or is it going to be another Smackjeeves?
Sorrowroot's only a one-shot but I still think back to it sometimes three years and literally hundreds of comics later.
I don't think I could have given my opinion in a more well thought out manner. Brilliantly said.
Yes this drives me up a wall. I think it's something that can work and I've seen it work before (in a Fanfiction as a primary example); but it's perhaps the hardest to really nail down and is so entirely dependent on how you portray it. Instead of trying to 'justify' it, show the reader why they act…
Aye. There are some I just, don't care about anymore for one reason or another, but me dropping off would probably rain in their parade so I just stick around.
I'm not sure if you're still taking feedback in this thread (or where else to submit it), but: I would like to request that something similar to how Webtoons handles the header be implemented. That is: as you read or click on the comic, the header/footer will retract until the end of the episode or …
If you mean the menu on the right: click the list button to get rid of it. For the top and bottom menus? I completely agree. On my laptop and computer they take up far too much space and you can't hide them without full-screen. Which, will its existence is great; I'd still prefer clicking to hide …
Can confirm. It does not work for me. Clicking "see all" just takes me out of fullscreen and instead puts the comments on the side per usual.
Aye, I concur on this. I like it better when they are at the bottom. It is less cramped compared to sidebar.
While I am happy about infinite scrolling returning: I'd like to request that the auto-hide feature of menus similarly be implemented again. I know full-screen is a thing, but I'd prefer it if the menus also disappeared if you clicked on it like before, or would hide themselves when scrolling. As it…
So when is endless scrolling coming back?
So when are these hotfixes supposed to take effect?
Don't know about mobile, but you can click to pull up the menu on desktop. Everything else I agree with you. That picture posted comparing the new design to Webtoons is quite telling. It's great how they've sunken the website into becoming an inferior knockoff of Webtoons. I always loved Tapas for…
Wolf Children. 2nd all time favorite movie behind Spirited Away, in my top five favorite Anime too. God I love that movie.
"Hella". I've legitimately dropped series in the past and just moved on when there are characters that use this phrase with regularity. There aren't many phrases or sayings I absolutely abhor more than this.
This shit seems to be the most common on Webtoons from my perspective. Christ, even in some non-BL comics there are similar comments. It's one of the biggest reasons I do just about everything I can to avoid comments on Webtoons.
(Sorry in advance for the wall of text, and for further derailing). The comic goes on hiatuses with a great degree of frequency, entirely unannounced and unexplained on Webtoons. Alongside shorter and shorter chapters, and art that has degraded by several degrees. Also I think fans were miffed abo…
Ahhhh. Did not realize that. That's my bad, I apologize. Yeah, it's a featured comic. Thought it was available for everything. Sorry 'bout that.
Actually, Webtoons has this too. Room of Swords is a comic that takes heavy advantage of animated pages. Your other points, especially the mature content system, I personally agree with. I hate how Webtoons has entire comic marked, rather than individual chapters or sections.
Pretty much this. I rather like Webtoons, but the comment section is something I hold in the same regard as a sleep-over with Jeffrey Dahmer. I'd sooner read YouTube comments than the ones on Webtoons. Case in point: Check out Lumine's comments. I personally stand on the side of people fed up, but…
God, they're all good. I'm torn between Lester or Riley. Leaning slightly to the latter.
Most of the time I'll just gradually fall out of interest in a webcomic. I usually juggle a great deal at a time, there aren't many I'll follow weekly because doing that one page a week just isn't that pleasant in most cases. Everything takes so long to progress, I'd rather wait and read it later. S…
Ayep. One comic I've been following for over two years has hand-written dialogue. Some of the pages' writing was so poor it almost made the dialogue illegible, It has gotten better, but not too much if I may be honest. Which, don't get me wrong, I like it, wouldn't follow for two and a half years …
Ayep. I know exactly which comic you're talking about (Ghost Lights - you should read it too!). I kinda get where people come from, there are some... other, comics, that portray almost comically vile 'relationships' that are so corrosive that they could melt Osmium, and some that seem to think the w…
Probably going to sound like an asshole for this, but screw it: I hate it when authors drop off for months at a time into the night without a single word about what's going on with the comic itself. They're active elsewhere, but never give readers any indication of what's going on with the comic i…
In my top 5 of comic turn-offs; more-so if we aren't even given their names, so we can distinguish from them better. Or it's a cluttered mess of names in a group of fifteen people. YES!! God Jesus, this seems to be especially bad in BL Comics. It's one of the main reasons I honestly hate them. I…
