Looking back it was good crit, i just wasn't expecting to get it. I think on any other day on any other platform I would've been fine. It was a yes or no question that I expected to get maybe 2 sentences in response. It's not at all your fault for assuming I was asking for the why. This is all …

im prepared for no, not a 7 paragraph bad faith crit. (seriously this would not fly in a fine arts context)

that doesn't excuse bad faith commentary and unnecessary passive aggression after i explicitly asked yall to knock it off. regardless of what features are and aren't available on a forum you should be nicer (to everyone, not just nuerodivergent people.) it costs 0$ to not harass people online.

Please for the love of god learn what rsd means:
that just stops notifications. Im looking for a block button like on twitter where they cant see you and you cant see them.
I mean on the forums but thanks anyway!
My life would be a lot better if I didn't keep getting the same passive aggressive commentary from the same handful of people.

[image] Im autistic and not in the mental state to take criticism (also as a rule of thumb with any artist you should ALWAYS ask before writing a critique. It's just polite.) this topic is primarily about whether or not a more textured, less anime styled comic would be welcomed by readers. T…

Look, I didn't ask for a crit and in general it's rude to give one if not explicitly requested to. Neurodivergent people notoriously need days to mentally prepare for a crit, due to RSD. So for fucks sake, don't write crits for people who didn't ask for one, it's not that hard to mind your own b…

I don't know how to explain to you that literally none of this is was information I didn't already know from years experience. This is super early concept art for a comic I don't plan on putting out for another year and a half. As an animator I can design a variety of styles with ease, all of w…

Got a comic with an interesting style? Feel free to link it along with your response!
Actually the China excuse is really shitty as the companies have to censor the movie when they translate it for Chinese audiences anyway. Most American films that air in China are missing scenes. Chinas not an excuse because they cater to them separately and in post.

So I know anime is the popular style. But I find that kinda limiting in terms of expression What I wanna do is pretty out there in comparison to what I see on Tapas and webtoon. Im talking heavy textures [image] Surreal colors (thi example is from an animation so it's got more outlines than the …
this one had my sobbing in episode 3
The colors, anatomy and overall style are great. the things that persistently bothered me (mind you I only read the first episode) was the posing and paneling. you leave a lot of white space, which makes it feel rather unfinished or simply empty.. If youre going to have so few panels per page…
The queer isn't reclaimed rhetoric is actually made to exclude LGBT folks that people such as terfs, aphobes, and transmeds dont want to include. It's a safety net for people like aces and trans women who may not feel safe specificfying in what exact way they're LGBTQ. It's a safety net and by …
I think I fixed it. Try now?
It would have its flaws, but even in the case of the poc example, a poc genre would be a refreshing thing for readers who are sick to death of hearing about white people. Or even white people who want to get a immersed in a story written in another culture but dont have any particular country in …
You'd be surprised. The demand for casual rep is way higher than it used to be within the community. In fact I've seen alot of people complaining about the insistence on making every story that features a queer main character about the struggles of being clear. People no longer like being remin…
And theres actually room to speculate that a good way to get young girls to read good lgbt rep made by lgbt people is to label it BL. At the same time though, labeling as BL is a death sentence in queer circles. If its going to be a genre it should be broader and inclusive of trans media aswell…
Thanks for telling me, I fixed the link! Feel free to try again!
Alright, so in the LGBTQ community words like Yoai and Yuri are dirty words. We heavily associate BL/GL with the gross characterization and fetishization of LGBT folks. I personally don't think theres anything inherently wrong with BL/GL on paper. Stories that feature gay characters and topics dir…
Solarfunk Zombieland while not specifically about the trans experience does feature an autistic trans man as its main character. The comics beta readers are all neurodivergent LGBTQ with a majority being trans. Its very optimistic and definitely worth a read if you're dieing for good rep.
Boy oh boy do I have a comic for you!! SOLARFUNK ZOMBIELAND Zombies might not be your thing but they're not super prominent. What really makes this comic special is the fact that the zombie virus was started by a failed vaccine meant to cure autism. Neurodivergent people are completely immune …
The whole thing is currently only 3 chapters I'd love to hear some feedback.
As someone who experiences constant rejection sensitive dysphoria due to adhd I feel this every time anyone leaves a comment that isn't incredibly specific.
My only complaint is that what's going on or what the setting even is, is not established in the first chapter. It's kinda confusing and could maybe use some exposition or narration. The art is fantastic and I'd read it just for that, however as a general rule good writing can sell bad art but go…
I find writing is easier in comics because if you know your story beats you can draw first and add dialogue later. Also 90% of what kills me as a writer is descriptions which I barely need in the visual medium that is comics.
never had an issue with betas taking more than a day to respond. I grabbed my betas for diversity checks, to ask questions about how to approach writing people of color and trans folks. They're all so thrilled to be there, that they go way above and beyond.
While all mediums have their limitations, and can in some cases hold people back, you need to be at a professional level of technical skill for that to even start to become a problem.
