Trying my hand at drawing a real comic about a witch and her girlfriend in Scotland mixing pagan witchcraft with Scottish folklore and legend. I've come from a background of drawing amateur political cartoons for around 3 years but this is my first real attempt at a long-form comic of any kind
I know this place is a melting pot of creators and fans alike, from all different backgrounds. And it can sometimes feel a bit awkward when you see people announcing that they're like 16 and it makes you feel ancient. (No offense to young folks, you're still awesome for doing your thing) But I'd l…
only 3 subs over here, here's my webcomic:
Super new!! I just published today. It's a lighter, spin-off of my main series.
I just started posting my first comic! It's a romance/drama with a little adventure, inspired by the game World of Warcraft, involving my own characters from the game.
I used Inktober to create a bunch of culture&history pages. Here's one: [image] My story is still in novel form at the moment but here's the link if you want to read~
The fact that every chapter name is a David Bowie song.
I have some hidden details and lore in my comic , in comic 5 broken trust page 11 panels 2 and 5 we see Damien standing and talking to shadow fang and blade star, behind him is a picture, showing a character I showed in the first 2 chapters, and it is significant because it shows Damien's lineage
I slipped Danny DeVito and Ethan Klein's Beanie in the background of a very early EGT strip and nobody's noticed yet it seems.
It's not exactly foreshadowing ir anything like that. It's just that I have a certain character lurking around without really showing him and I can't wait to properly introduce him XD
Lot's of Easter Eggs from other characters from our Amazon Universe. It will be nice to see who will recognize them or what is mentioned about them when they got launched too.
i hid loss (I II II I_) in my comic
I can wait forever for that but I for sure dread that too. Not even 30 pages and the amount of times I swapped hands, forgot ears, details on clothes and Spinel's armlet are something else...
The amount of anatomical and lazy mistakes I've made (such as background changes between panels, missing glasses, etc)
I suppose I'm waiting for people to realize what mental problems my MC is going through. Besides that not much yet, still very early into the story! But when more characters are introduced ill def be waiting for people to pick up on some of their sexuality, their own social problems, and which on…
In Nachos Con Carne, the faculty members of Thomas Bowdler Junior High are all named for a certain theme. Can you guess what it is? Hint: Think TV superheroes.
References to Heavy Metal bands, songs, albums... Also nods to my artist influences. And dinosaurs. Lots of dinosaurs.
ive hidden a certain purple-eyed character throughout spire, usually when another specific character is on screen. maybe they're related who knows :^) [image]
Early cameos of some characters that are introduced later (and some that haven`t been properly introduced yet), hinting some small and big twists, (some were revealed, others are still pending) So every once in a while there are some interesting theories and questions from my readers. Some of t…
I've talked in another thread about how I've foreshadowed one moment in the comic. Must feel great when people notice detail like that and then reread the comic and have their mind blown. xD
With just a couple key elements hidden in plain sight, the entire motive of the main characters will be revealed by the conventions hidden in it. To current public page release, the group of protagonists' true identities have been in conversation just once but it was the reveal and I am hoping so, …
My entire comic is hidden and I can't wait for someone to find it
Like other people have said, I like to put in a lot of reeeaaally subtle foreshadowing. Subtle enough that I'm not terribly surprised that no one notices, lol. One I guess I can mention, I had to be pretty overt about the inclusion of Sanry's surname in this page before people noticed that the nam…
I'm waiting until people figure out the MC's backstory! It's gonna be a treat seeing people react when it gets revealed :)))
That's really cool that your readers are so engaged! Mine isn't hidden anywhere, it's staring at the viewers face whenever my main character turns her back to the audience. She has a white glowy seal on her back and to this day no-one has asked what it is. It's a major aspect of the story and I'd sa…
One I see a lot in fiction (and am definitely guilty of, myself) is the Generic Office Job. Maybe we get to know their actual job title, maybe not, but you'd better bet they need to get that report on the boss' desk by tomorrow morning!
What about the all mighty, ever present occupation of... the high school student?
I'll certainly check your comic, it looks interesting! As for your question.. I hide a lot of small details and references, and it's always nice when people notice some; but there are none that I specifically, more than others, want people to discover. I had a few times the (welcomed) surprise …
The death flags, among other spoilery things
There is something I hide in all of my comics that hints at a larger collective lore. I don't want to give it away but its pretty subtle I think most of the instances would be missed even if someone knew what they were looking for. Even my artists who know the story don't always know why it appears …
Wait, you can subscribe to yourself? ...Holy crap, you can. Time to scare myself whenever my scheduled episodes go up. With Splitting Image, there's a lot of hidden details in the comic, and there's the cover that shows a lot of things, but there's a main one that's always in view even in side ill…
