Absolutely! Submitting an edited manuscript—whether it's a second pass for grammar, spelling, and other tweaks or a rework to remove mature content—while the original version is still available is no problem.
Thanks for asking! We aren't looking for mature content for Premium at this time. If your story features mature content that can be toned down, we'll be happy to review it!
You're correct! We no longer require a certain number of subs for novel submissions.
Yes, you can absolutely submit your project! We offer both nonexclusive and exclusive contracts, to fit every creator's needs.
A prologue would be counted as part of the five episodes, but not the acknowledgments, or other supplemental episodes that aren't directly related to the main plot of the story!
Hello! At the moment, we're only able to accommodate pitches in English at the submission email address.
Hello! Yes, you absolutely can!
Hi, everybody! It’s amazing to see the response to our new guidelines and to get to talk to so many of you about Premium
For those of you just finding the thread, I’ve answered some of the FAQs below (UPDATE: these have also been added to the first post for easy reference)! @desktop_dragon and I …
@WriterLinXiaolong Yes, sending 5 Tapas episodes is absolutely fine! Feel free to link to your novel, too, if you'd like.
@ThatFanwriter_EV You're welcome, I hope it's been helpful to read through You can definitely keep updating after the submission, and I think it's okay to continue posting unt…
That's changed! There's now no minimum subscriber number for novel submissions.
Hi, all! To catch up on a few questions: @arayakim I see someone was kind enough to share the comics guidelines (thanks, @Aykay!). To answer your question about exclusivity, we're happy to work with creators on either an exclusive or non-exclusive basis. @neardrive Yes, I'd recommend waiting unt…
It varies for each novel and depending on what our marketing team thinks will work best, but marketing efforts can include things like inclusion in sales, push notifications to readers, banners on the Tapas site, or social media posts.
Hm, I think as long as it hits the 80K minimum word count, we can take a look!
With Premium, the authors retain the rights to their novel (and creators to their comics). We offer both exclusive and non-exclusive contracts!
We're happy to work with creators on both exclusive and non-exclusive contracts, so if you have a project that's already available elsewhere, you can absolutely submit it!
Personally, I like Word docs, but Google docs and PDFs are also absolutely fine!
Hi, everybody! I'm logging off for a bit, but will be back later to answer any new or missed questions. Thank you so much for your responses so far!
Bullet points are fine—I understand the struggle of chopping down a synopsis! And yes, if should definitely be more of a synopsis, so we know where the story's headed.
Thanks! Happy to do it, especially if it means getting to read some excellent new novels!
We'd like to see the first five Tapas episodes (so, in your case, two full chapters equaling those 5 parts)!
Yes, you can submit in-progress stories that are already on Tapas!
We're here to answer any and all questions! Thanks for asking. You'd be pitching for consideration for our Premium Program, which means after a certain number of free-to-read episodes, later ones would be paid. And yes, you'll receive some marketing help, as well! Hope this clarifies.
At the moment, I think the plan is to keep the submission inbox open indefinitely, so please do send your pitch when you're ready!
All excellent questions, thanks! Yes, we mean the first 5 Tapas chapters/episodes—apologies for any confusion! The second and third questions have a similar answer. We take a number of factors into consideration while reviewing submissions, so I can't say what might increase or decrease your cha…
Wonderful! You can address it to me (Katie) and, yes, that's the correct email!
Hi! I believe only a certain number of the opening chapters would be free to read.
Hi! We only updated our novels guidelines recently, but the link includes the comics guidelines, too!
Totally fine on the synopsis length! (And honestly, as an enormous X-Men fan, you had me at New Mutants )
Hm, I'd still like to take a look, if you're up for it! Feel free to send it along when you're ready
I totally understand nerves! Hope editing is going well and that you decide to submit for consideration!
Hi! Yes, a Google doc is totally fine! You don't have to include secondary characters in the descriptions, but you can feel free to include a few, if you'd like. It would probably help give us a sense of the project and the world you're building to know a bit about them. You can definitely pitch…
