Technically, the one in the front IS the main character overall for book 1, but similarly, for book 1, the one in the back is just as important as the main character. One just has more page time than the other really.

It's not with comics with me, since I'm not an artist, but I oh so, relate to this when it comes to reading 
since I've started writing, reading had just never been the same. Everything I read just makes me want to get on my ass and get better at writing.
