this actually happened a few days ago: [image]

hey.. i agree and disagree here. wenn you publish something you also open it up for ridicule. i think anyone is always allowed to offer constructive critique, but you need to deliver it socially acceptable. "you suck" doesn't help anyone. also.. as an artist you usually don't see your own weaknesse…

your art is stiff! get over it! - is what i initially wanted to write when i read your rant. but i searched for your comic and don't really see the issue. there is always room for improvement.. but especially for tapas your art is quite good. but.. i kinda miss the days when people could take crtit…

you always have to consider what it is for. i work in advertising (mainly storyboards) and from time to time i draw comic-pages for over $ 1000. then again i have no problem drawing a comic-page for some local newspaper or magazine for $ 300. when it comes to actual comic-books.. -i usually do it …

what about young beginner artists who, instead of working on their skills, present themself online as professionals, giving false advise, trolling experienced artists.... -was already annoying on conceptart.org 15 years ago... -now i sound old.... (and i am...)

don't know if it counts as comedy. since i'm from germany i'm not funny but angry.. -always so angry.. -but only on the inside...

it's andrews mcmeel syndicate.. they primarily sell to newspapers and who reads newspapers anymore... don't think it's easy to get in.. and then you would probably have to deal with daily deadlines.. and i don't think the money is that great anymore.. should have tried it 30 years ago.. just my opi…

hey, it looks pretty cool! i'm not sure about the style you are going for. so i can only speak about realistic human proportions. the leg bothers me the most.. the length of upper and lower leg should be similar. the hands are also way too big. that is what i mean: [image] if you are going fo…

[image] who could that be?

you are absolutely right. and i see.. my first comment was probably a little misleading. i never meant anatomy wasn't important. all i'm saying is as a beginner you should first get an understanding of proportions and gesture before you go practise muscles and bones. like.. if you mold something yo…

i'm not familiar with the characters.. so i might be wrong here.. cool drawing. her arms and hands look a little like rubber. and the big dudes forshortening arm lacks volume. i drew some quick lines over it since i'm not so good expaining with words.. -hope you don't mind [image]

haha.. same here. think it's normal. you need to feel what you draw.

emkay, thank you so much for your comment. i can't speak for the writer but i will forward your points. that's definitely helpful! thanks a lot. i think we will continue with it. we might just take a little break.. rethinking..

hey thanks Mr_B! yeah.. i probably shouldn't give up that easy.

IdiotWithPencil.. how old are you? you write like you know it all, yet you are still a beginner-level artist. don't mean to be offensive.. but i don't see a point in arguing with you here... anyways.. good luck!

hey there! I uploaded a 22 page comic in a traditional comic-pages format. it's written by my friend niko and drawn by me. we didn't plan on making a web-comic.. we just couldn't find a good publisher and decided to put it here ..hoping for feedback.. finding out what went wrong. i'm a freelanc…

you don't make any sense! the problem is that most young aspiring artists are memorising names of muscles and bones instead of practising to draw. and as i've written, everybody knows basic anatomy! enough for a beginner at least. i don't say you shouldn't study anatomy. it just comes after propor…

i seriously don't understand why everyone online promotes studying anatomy..... as a beginner: forget anatomy!! you already know basic anatomy since you are steering your anatomically correct body your entire life. start with proportions and gesture sketches.

i sometimes think my sketches look better than my finished pages... [image][image][image]

last thing i drew just for fun... trying to figure out digital painting...[image][image]
