Is anyone doing a drawing prompt this year for October?

Is there one you would recommend?

Last year I did one for Neopets but due to current events, I would not want to do another one for them.

Someone I follow on Tumblr (nonetoon) came up with a prompt called 'Caught-on-tober', about designing cryptids:

It sounds really cute~. If I did drawing prompts, I would definitely try it.

The corner of the internet doing it give off cozy vibes, and I'll take any opportunity to draw the funny little friends who live in my head.

Wait, neopets as in kids game? What happened if you don't mind me asking?

Not sure if this is what's being addressed, but Neopets is going to be releasing NFTs, which are hugely controversial. In general, Neopets has never had the best reputation, as they'd heavily advertise other brands to children, and they were once supported (financially?) by Scientology.

Adding on to the story. So they used to be owned by Nickelodeon but at one point when Nickelodeon was shutting down a lot of their online games, they ended up selling Neopets to Jumpstart (the people behind those educational PC games). Things have been always a bit shaky with them but shit hit the fan when Flash was shut down. Now the site is sort of in shambles and doesn't function fully and it always crashes my browser when I try to use it on Chrome. The site is riddled with security issues and it is just a broken mess.

Recently they announce the NFTs which some of the staff of the site thought was a scam. But my guess is someone higher up is forcing this on them and they are partnering with a very shady site that has red flags all over it. Neopets failed to deliver not that long ago on a digital card game that also seemed very scam like. There is also a show that is suppose to come out, but that too also seems fishy.

I just have little hope for the future of the site.

If you don't mind a diffferent month, Huevember is a underappreciated one. Basically, during November, a drawing with a different colour each day. The original was a wheel, but a lot of people have done colour palettes to expand on the idea of Huevember!

Oh wow..... i played moshi monsters as a kid so i never knew ( i remember i used to google/watch yt unboxing videos to get codes for food and decorations lol)

RIP Moshi Monsters. It was a really cute site and it was shut down a little bit before Flash shut down. I used to have some of the figures but I got rid of them. Tho I kept Blingo.

I did Drawtober on twitter last year. There's only six prompts so it's not as stressful as the daily drawing challenges.

Drawtober sounds doable. Tho my style isn't really that scary. The first one is clown and I only want to draw a cute one.

You can do cute stuff too! They actually have a post where they explain each prompt a bit and you can pretty much do whatever. I did some not so scary ones last time, lol. I actually only did three last year.

There's an instagram that I follow that has project-tober: basically, you think of something art-wise that you want to improve, or something comic-wise you need to get done in my case, and you work on that for the month.
