Hi everyone! I dunno if this is true for you, but I really dislike the first chapter of my webcomic (bad art etc.), so I mess around it a lot and I use it for experiments.
Today I tried to turn the first two pages into scroll format, mostly out of curiosity. But I'm not really sure about the result, cause I've always worked in page format and this is my first attempt at scroll.

Is it easy enough to read?
I'll add down here the pages in the original format: I can read them from my mobile as they are, but maybe someone can't, even if I followed Tapas' guidelines on font size and page size. This is why I came up with this experiment.
I'd like to know if vertical makes the pages look better, or if actually nobody cares.
Thank you for any feedback!

Hey! I also reformat from page to scroll format.

I think you've done a great job here, and both formats look amazing! My only bit of advice would be to play around with the spacing of panels a bit more as it can impact the pacing of a scene. The shots for the environment could be more spaced out and then panels get closer when the fight breaks out to show fast pace (which I think is done well here)

This is just my opinion, so take from it what you want. You're doing an excellent job already : )

Thanks for your feedback! I'll try putting shorter distance between the "action panels" and more distance between "environment panels". The fact that vertical format isn't mean for print make me feel a bit lost, like where's the safe, where's the bleed?? I need to practice this new skill

no problem! And yeah, it takes a while to get the hang of, some of my earlier reformats had my panels a bit too close together. But like don't be afraid to enlarge things, zoom in on specific panels (especially since impactful landscape panels can look really small on vertical scroll)

You just gotta test things and see what works for you!

A bit of an example of what I mean:

Original:

Webtoon: (it's a long canvas so you need to click on it)

I just added him looking up as a bit of a small detail to show his nervousness, as vertical scroll is a bit more freeing when it comes to repeated panels.

I see! No print means more freedom on page count, I can make bigger panels without worrying about using too much space on the page. Thank you for this example! Both of your pages work well: you don't actually "need" the repeated panel when working on page format, but it adds movement in vertical format, almost like watching a cartoon!
