Animated Frames in comics

So there's something I'd totally love to do in my comic and that is to have certain frames have small animations in it.
For example one of the characters has a visor that powers up over their face. I'd love to have that happen in the scene but not sure if that is even possible to do?

Anyone else done this in their comics?

I haven't done it myself for my series, but 'Absolve the Sun' has lots of small animations, mostly for showing planes changing formations! So yes, it is possible
