Is anyone else on Okida because I just uploaded Elsie’s first five episodes on there and going to release the rest of them later.

Okida is a small comic website but it looks interesting and promising in my eyes.

Hm.

I do like that it's designed for reading on a desktop monitor like Our Black Trans Mother God In Atheist Heaven intended, but the idea that you scroll sideways isn't clearly conveyed. I was confused by it at first and I was a big fan of the When I Am King2 back in the day. This might just be because a lot of the comics I've looked at are too tall and push the scroll bar "below the fold". Maybe if they added some sort of scaling?

But since scrolling down is pretty ingrained at this point I can't see the hoi polloi going for it. Maybe it's time for a comeback?

I figure it would be a great spot for landscape or gag strip formatted works. Or old webcomics of yesteryear...

EDIT

Ah... here we go.

What are the formats I can upload my webcomic?

We have 3 different formats, Vertical Scroll, Left To right scroll or Right To Left scroll.

Turns out I only found the horizontal scrolling stuff.

Some of these no-nos are pure Wertham...

Improper handling of the Bible.
Improper handling of the Quran.

Too vague and open. Suggests at pandering to vile blasphemy laws. Wet fart.

Idolizing (Illustrating) Muhammad the Prophet.

Since this does get people killed I'll allow it.

Expressions related to illegal/ antisocial/ dangerous behaviors.

Too open. You can't write a gangster story? A drug dealer? A goth kid sitting in the back of the class not talking to anyone? The opening to a Twisted Sister music video?

Expressions and acts that might induce, promote, and assist bad behaviors such as bullying and running away from home.

Weird to connect the two.

Also, I have no plans to depict this but I'm 100% for running away from home if home is the more dangerous option.

Oh it's that platform that lets you turn your panels into NFTs again...

It's at least clear now that it's a creator choice, not something they'll do to you without permission... but I still want nothing to do with it.

Excuse me. WHAT?! If I hear NFT ever again I’m going to rip my hair out and cry!

I had no idea.

Yeah, sorry, it's in their FAQ. Point 5, which they've somewhat misleadingly titled "sponsors" and avoided using the word "NFTs" to describe things that are definitely NFTs.

What have I done? I had no idea! I hate NFTs they’re ugly!

But I can still post on there right?

Since the NFT thing is optional I just ignore it.

It's optional, so it's your choice. I personally choose to avoid platforms that are involved with them at all if I can, because I believe they're unethical for a variety of reasons, and that association with a platform like that wouldn't go down well with my audience who also largely believe they're unethical.

People can and should decide what they personally feel comfortable with when it comes to platforms, because there's no such thing as a platform that never does anything at all shady; they're business partners, not friends, after all.

I'm gonna let everyone else make their own decision but my general thoughts are: That people can try and sell NFT's of their own artwork if they want. I have a problem with art thieves trying to profit of other people's work, and I do have an issue with obnoxious people and bots bombarding people with messages about NFTs. As far as I am concerned its just a fad and they won't hold their value over time, but I can't fault people in desperate financial situation trying to monetize their own artwork in some way. The fact that NFTs are an option does not in my mind make this a dealbreaker. If I hear anything about NFTs being created without the permission of the artist I would turn on this site in an instant.
