Sooo ... hello everone. Yes, this is another promotions thread, but I swear there's a point to this.
Anyone who posts on Webtoon Canvas will know that Webtoon does the bare minimum to promote Canvas comic. So a fellow creator and I decided to do it ourselves instead. We've been working behind the scenes and are close to launching a promotional Webtoon called Canvas Gems where we'll post (most likely monthly) Canvas recommendations. Our hope is that if this promotional webtoon gets enough of an audience, it'll give comics with a smaller following more visibility on the platform itself.

Since I know that a lot of people post on both Tapas and Webtoon Canvas, I thought I'd post about it here, too, to make you aware of it. If you'd like to stay posted, you can check out our Twitter22 and Instagram13 (there aren't many posts there yet since the project is still in its infancy, but we will use those platforms to promote webcomics and other similar projects more in the future).

And, of course, feel free to link to your comics and comic recommendations here. We try to focus on comics with less than 5000 subs and there is no minimum sub count - so don't shy away from posting small, unknown stories. We're always grateful for new comics to check out and promote (though depending on how many comics there are, it might take a while to get through all of them - we're only two people right now and we're still figuring out the best way to pick comics to promote and promote as many as possible without flooding our readers with so many comics they end up not looking at any of them - but we'll do our best to promote small, underappreciated gems  ).
EDIT: Since I've been getting a lot of comments in this thread, I might not be able to respond to every one of them individually. So from now on, if I've liked your reply, that means I've added the comic(s) you linked to the list.

Another thing - if you post your series, I would be extremely thankful if you could fill in this information (because I have to do it manually otherwise)

Title:
Creator:
Genre:
Subscribers: [This isn't all that important now. We don't have strict rules about which webtoons we promote, though we are looking for webtoons with under 5k subs. Should we get so many submissions we can't work through them all, we might pick webtoons with e.g. less than 1k or 500 subs first.]
NSFW/Mature/Adult Themes: yes/no [We promote both family-friendly stories and stories with adult themes, but we do it separately. On our Twitter we have #canvasgemsoftheday and #canvasgemsofthenight, with the latter being dedicated to Webtoons with more mature themes.]

This is a great idea! I know I'm always looking for smaller projects to read on webtoons, but it's so hard to find them when the platform just shoves the super popular ones/originals in your face all the time.

Well, if you need some comics to check out, my comic "Project: Achilles" has a pretty small following.

Very interesting idea!

I've been curious on how the Webtoons CANVAS algorithm works for a while now, so if you have any insight or links to how it works, I'd love to see it! I used to get subs and comments very consistently until suddenly it dropped off-- my comic still does well on Tapas but now it's floundering on Webtoons so hard, super bizarre.

That said, I'll take any change I can get to help promote it on Webtoons, since more eyes is always good.

A very nice initiative! I will definitely follow this closely :grinning:

Also, i allow myself to put the link to my comic on webtoon here, if that's alright :o

Oooh, interesting. I've followed you guys on Twitter, and I hope your project goes well!

Here's my comic:

Here's two of my comics

This is a good idea! What size are you thinking by "small"? I follow a bunch of great canvas titles that I think deserve more love.️ Edit: I'll just pop a few sweet romance comics I consider smaller here :).

Historical Romance with 1.1k subs:

Heartwarming Romance with around 200 subs:

Fantasy Romance with about 150 subs:

This is great idea! Here are my two canvas comics:

Great Idea. This is my 2 canvas:

Great idea! We could definitely use more grassroots-level promotion over on CANVAS! I'll keep an eye on this.

Here's my comic!

I wholeheartedly agree to your statement! What a great idea~

At the same time, I would like to participate and suggest my series as well

@alcchron @TadxSarah @migxmeg @MissEljebel @Utamee @Kaydreamer @DrizDew Thank you so much for your submissions, I've added them all to the list.

From now on, if I like your comment, it means I've added every comic you linked to, just so you know I've responded.

@migxmeg Thanks so much for the recommendations (I added miss widow to my personal subs because I love me some 19th century stories)
Right now all the comics we added have less than 5000 subs (I think), most comics with 4-digit numbers have between 1K and 2K, many have less than 1K. One comic we picked out only has 15 subs or so. So the comics you suggested are perfect in terms of sub count.

Ohh, sweet, I love this idea! It can definitely be a pain to be seen on webtoon canvas! I have a series that I would like to throw into the mix as well.

Great concept and definitely something that I'm interested in supporting (retweets, engagement, etc.) as it gets rolling

I'll loop back around with some suggestions later, but for now I would like to list my own comic for consideration:

It's in its infancy, but will be a monthly update series~

This is such a great project! Honestly I’ve struggled trying to get my comic noticed by Webtoon/Webtoon Canvas, and gotten so tired of hoping they’ll promote my webcomic and other smaller webcomics, but they always cycle between a few popular ones (their collections always have the popular ones too):disappointed::disappointed::disappointed:

I hope this project can become popular and helps smaller artists, comics and comic creators and more get noticed more!

And here’s my webcomic, I’m too shy to share it but here it goes haha

Sounds great! Thank you for your work :pray::blush:

This is a great idea! I don't have anything on Webtoons, but I do know some deserving stories. (Hope I didn't link too many!) Thank you!

This is a great idea to help smaller creators gain more visibility on Canvas. Cross-promotion on Webtoons can work quite well, so the idea of having a dedicated series to do this is quite exciting! Thank you for thinking of creating this and helping out everyone

This is my canvas series, although it is very, very long:
