I have two Twitter handles: my official one, where I've mostly been posting comic updates (AmysGamesAGE2), and my personal Twitter, where I post random stuff and sometimes retweet comic links (petfriendamy1). I don't post there super often, but maybe having some more Twitter friends will help me be more consistent, haha.

I mainly use Twitter to socialize with the community and stalk nice art. I rarely self-promote because I am self-conscious as a creator.

I am the bad kind of user that only uses it to post about updates smiley , and I also like random twitter posts with pretty pictures lol.
This is my account @ Lunarte_3

I recently got a Twitter and honey, I have no idea what to do with it. I guess for now I am just going to post and hope something comes from it.
(I was originally going to us it to take requests but I guess you need followers before getting into that jazz)

I just started a Twitter for my new comic, keeping it seperate from my main account.
Just gotta try and find a way to not make it too spammy I guess! Which is tough in the beginning when the temptation to scream HEY GUYS READ MAH COMIC! shouts at you constantly. Takes awhile to get the hang of it I guess!

Anyway here be my Twitter @newcatcity3
And my comic: https://tapas.io/series/New-Cat-City

And woah already sounding spammy. -cries in corner-

I'd like to interact with other creators and readers, and I created a twitter page for my comic @magirenecomic3 last month. Before I created it, I was looking at other creators' pages to get an idea of how they use theirs. Aside from announcing new pages, I plan on posting WIPs, and sketches, but not sure what else yet.

Hi FlamingPickle. I'm @KristinTipping on Twitter. I found Twitter really hard to get into for a long time, but I've started participating in webcomic # chats, and that's helped a lot with meeting other comic people. The ones I've done are #comicbookhour, #webcomicchat, and #comicartistsunite.

I'm a really big fan of Twitter, my handle is DMBrigman2

As others have said only posting your comic updates doesn't really get followers. Think about it this way with people you socialize with in real life, you don't always want to hear only about buying their book/diet supplements/jewelry/etc. So, you have to give people a reason to follow you. That means retweeting interesting content, participating in discussions, answering people's questions, posting original content like sketches and WIPs.

I suggest follow people, think about what about their feed that you like and don't like, then let that guide your own feed. Post about things you are passionate about, there are communities for D&D, wrestling, and TV shows. If you can connect with someone over a shared hobby and make friends then they may check out your stuff. Ultimately, make connections with people, make friends, if people like you then they will check out your stuff because you made it. Social media is as much about selling yourself as it is selling your product.

Just be mindful of the purpose of your account, if it is your "professional" account then you should try to act like you would at work, otherwise you risk turning off potential readers or employers.

Just have fun and be patient! Like everyone else has said keep your tweets interesting/laid back and try not to spam. throw in some promo, like when you post a new chapter, but give followers something else about you, or the story, or life or whatever. Here's mine if you want to follow you can btw. @AwezumART1

My twitter is Waka_xo1

Here are some helpful hashtags you can use to get more eyes on your art/comic:
makingcomics, supportcomics, comicsuncut, promotecomics, comicbookhour, webcomicchat
*Keep an eye out for hashtags that interest you and try to use ones that are trending.

There are also daily hashtags you can take advantage of: WipWednesday, webcomicwednesday, newcomicbookday or NCDB (Wednesday), indiecomicthursday, throwbackthursday, fanartfriday

As well as yearly hashtags that you can participate in like 24 Hour Comic Day, Inktober or mermay (which is going on right now)

It's great to have some advice! I'm also trying to figure out how to use twitter, but it's hard to find things to post about XD

here's mine1!

btw, it's says I've been there since 2011, but I only started using it this year

Here's mine twitter.3
I'm not really good at tweeting stuff other than my comic, but I'm trying to improve. ._.)

Hello there! Well, it's been a little while since I tried to find Tapastic people on Twitter!! I'm happy for finding this Topic xDDD.
Here's my Twitter (>>.>)> https://twitter.com/Wezb0y
I'm always posting random things that happen through the day, and sometimes random thoughts, so you might get some cringe reactions xDDD Don't mind me haha. Nice to meet you all btw! smiley

Here's my Twitter1

I have a full time job so expect the only update is my comic and sometimes art, retweets. literally every big time comic artist I follow does that so idk what anyone is complaining about ¯\ (ツ)_/¯

Hey, I'm on twitter as @colinwmd1 and tweet about comics and random stuff. I probably don't promote enough at the moment but I'll probably do a bit more once my comic gets going. And I agree with the other comments about not just promoting. No-one wants a feed of just comic updates.
Well, maybe some people do. Hmmm... actually I have a twitter account for my comic updates for people that don't want my other nonsense!

But yeah, colinwmd is my main one...

23 days later

I'm @luciier on Twitter, but it's a personal one, with only a few non comic related drawings
@immortalofelia is the one I post updates and (in the future) extra content like character sheets and let the characters answer questions

I've just started to use Twitter a week or two ago, and boy is this thread a goldmine!!! Thank you all for all these tips!

I'm yondoloki1 on Twitter btw
