Been trying to find a decent design for a character for a new comic I'll be releasing later. Since I am not very good at hand drawing people I stuck with vector art. Opinions would be welcomed. Would you read a comic with this character style?

How old is your character?

He looks very toddler like. If he is a toddler, I would make his pants a bit longer, like to his knees.

I don't know what your overall style is, but the eyes with flesh highlights looks a little odd. I think having white highlights would look better, but that is just me.

Yes, he is a toddler in this pic. Alright I was curious if the eyes would look weird xD thanks!

He's cute and well-drawn and everything, but in my opinion he looks... a little bland? I'm not sure how to explain it, but he looks a bit like the background character is a panel. The one that's just there but not supposed to attract the main attention. For a main character, I would try to make a bolder design that's more eye-catching. Make the eyes pop a lot more with a high contrast (add eye white and maybe some dark pupils, a little gradient in there maybe). Put some variety in the proportions, right now everything is kind of all roughly the same size which isn't very eyecatching. Since this is a child you can play with the proportions by having a bigger head, larger forehead, smaller limbs. You can make the clothes brighter and more saturated instead of this dull green. Basically this is a beautiful drawing, but not an exciting character design. You can do it though! Good luck!

-waves arms around- Lol I'll try I am not good with "people" related art... though now I wonder if I am good with my other art too LOL.

i love those eyes :o I cant ever seem to get eyes I like but those seem simple enough that I wont even mess it up LOL Thanks x3 and I see whatcha did with the other bits :open_mouth:

You're most welcome! It's a lot easier to do this stuff for others than find what's wrong in my own art hahahaha

Lol ikr! I've been working on this for about a week I went thru so many designs and I use illustrator and perspectives and ... people in general ugh wish I remembered all my life drawing classes xD but that was years ago.

Looking nice! Try lowering the eyes a little: kids are like that, a large forehead looks more child-like!

lmao now I am scared when he ages in this comic LOL >< But Alright!

May I suggestion some blush marks since it's a kid. I just think kids with rosy cheeks are adorable, and well if you want the character to pop and it's a toddler, adorable is the way to go.

try making the arms a little shorter and pudgier his right arm looks very long and thin. I would also look at the hair. maybe style it away from the face to emphasize the large forehead to help sell it as a toddler how about adding a couple of lower teeth i think the extreme cheek works better for the face
