@MylCreates
You gave me the option of reviewing either Hacheeachkee or Death Prince, and I opted for Death Prince because the theme was more easily accessible for me.
Comic Flow
I'm glad you kept the vignette of two characters talking short and sweet. I disliked having an art process sequence in the intro of the comic, but otherwise I'm able to follow the story well and haven't hit any roadblocks in reading.
I really like how you explain where your inspirations for the character of Sage came from. Your personal experience adds a lot to the comic.
I would prefer it if the extraneous reader reaction stuff was removed from the main comic, perhaps relocated to a reader-response comic on the side so that people still get all the nice excitement from a shoutout but old reader updates don't impact a new reader going through your comic story. I think they're really fun and you should keep engaging your audience with them within the post of each new comic, but they are interrupting my long read-through of your past updates.
Style
This might seem a little heavy, but there are a few discrepancies between your drawing style and some of the texturing and coloring. I would reconsider using lineless elements such as grass, flowers, etc. when your hand-drawn art relies on lineart.
I'm honestly surprised the squirrel was not drawn yourself in league with all your nice character drawings. You've got a really good handle on drawing people, I think you can draw a squirrel well too.
You have well-developed skills cartooning as well as photobashing. I wish the comic would use either one technique or the other, but not both at once. Hope that makes sense!
Lighting
Something you might want to experiment with in the future is more complex lighting. In each panel, consider which parts of a character you want to highlight, what mood you want for an overall scene, and how each lighting decision impacts the mood and impact of each plot point in the story.
I did a quickie Google search and here's a nice scrolling read to start (you don't have to buy anything to scroll through and read it in spite of that weird 'purchase' button): https://www.sophia.org/tutorials/elements-of-art-light
It would be nice if I could find a more itemized list of the types of lighting that artists use, but the article I linked to above has a nice roundup of lighting ideas in regards to evoking certain moods and details in art.
Thank you for submitting your comics for review! I hope you keep on keeping on! : )
