So far I've come with the concept of:

Royal AU, in which Henry (my main) is a king of a small bit very rich kingdom that trades with the weapons it creates, Henry adopted Larry as a baby in this one and to create a bond with the empire of the blood foxes, (Autumn's and her sister build it) Larry has to marry Spring since in this AU they're not cousins.

Modern AU, again Henry adopted Larry when he's younger that in the main story, there's still magic, but not the classic adventurers, Henry works in his weapons factories, while Autumn is the leader of an international mafia.

Hero AU: basically, Henry is a well known hero, when I stopped and thought about this one I realized he was basically puss in boots.

How about you? Have you thought about an alternative universe of your comic

I’ve already got an AU planned for Finding Daecon’s Way. While FDW is a shapeshifter fantasy set in modern times the AU is the same characters set in the not-so-distant future (say, 50-75 years out). Fossil fuels have almost run out and become very expensive. Daecon has invented a clean, cheap alternative. He gets very rich very quickly, but his invention has drawn the ire of “big oil”, and he is murdered. Shortly before he is murdered his entire consciousness is backed up into the cloud, and the murder triggers a program that downloads the consciousness into a human/Android hybrid (basically a living robot). Now he must find the murderer, which will be no easy task since he has no recollection of anything that happened between the time of backup and the murder.

I wanted to make a highschool comedy/maybe-romance series with characters from my different stories as students (well, with their ages adjusted), so I guess it could count as an AU? Actually, I still might draw that

Also, I was considering turning 6,75 into a game, and player's choices would highly affect the outcome. In my series my MC Kestrel makes seemingly the worst choices all the time, so I wonder if I could make players find themselves in an even worse outcome hahaha  or maybe hide some different possibilities for happy endings

Back in 2020 I was doing an outfit challenge. From it I toyed with a Trespasser AU set in a boarding school. It would have been a slice of life sort of thing, featuring alternate versions of my characters.

  • Blip would be a cat in this AU haha.

  • Kyara would be a member of one of the school's sport team, and be an allstar player, but she'd also have a delinquency streak, often sneaking out or skipping class, even preferring to hang out with the kids from a nearby public school.

  • Zack would be the goody-two shoes, but has this one secret that would get him in a lot of trouble. He has a cat in his dorm! Kyara finds out and so begins their friendship in this AU.

  • Grayson would also serve a villainous role here, trying his best to bust Kyara and Zack for their transgressions against the school's code!

I have an entire "What If" series planned for the future of our novels that will follow paths different from the main story. Situations like "What if X lived or died?" or "What if X succeeded or failed?"

The one I could explain openly is "What if Marcus never stopped Jethuun?" from our series Gluttonous: The Devil’s Mistake.

This is a Sci Fi AU of my main comic here on Tapas...

And these two comics series I collab on are AUs of one another.

I think about it a lot! The premise of Niji Chikara is that four people are chosen to be heroes, and an undisclosed amount of people are chosen to be villains, which is rife with all sorts of "what if different people were chosen?" AU potential.

The villains in particular get brain-altering side effects along with their powers, so swapping those around can be a fun character exercise. I've written a bit of a villain roleswap fic, though it technically wasn't an AU so much as "these characters inexplicably swap powers for a bit."

Perhaps a 1990s AU for Elsie and also a zombie AU.

And a cyberpunk AU for Cracking Eggs. It was originally set in the future.

All the time!! The novel I'm working on right now is literally a modern AU of a different story. The sheer number of AU stories I have is a touch concerning, but it's just so much fun to play with your OCs like barbies.

I've thought a bit about doing a present day AU for the Blue Fedora, or reimagining the characters in different time periods. They'd be interesting to see in the 1800s, the 1970s, etc. Etc.

A more horror take on the story has always piqued my interest, though. I had a bit of fun with a vampire Otto concept.

I'm always thinking of possible AUs to put my characters in!! I guess one would be that Tikba lives. A role reversal type AU.

Whether I do just for fun or not is up for debate, but the one I would be most interested in exploring is if Tikba, the main ghost that's a thorn in Libum's side, were still human. If they were raised and adopted into (SPOILER), what would their personality be like? They're inherently sensitive, and care to the extreme as a ghost now with no memory, but I'd really love to play around if they were still human and what kind of life they would live.

I think I kinda created an AU by accident by chicken-ifying other ocs, hehehe!

I don't necessarily have an AU in mind, but something else that I feel blends into the story. I know, that's vague and confusing AF. I wont say anymore, cause it's major spoiler territorry and it'll be some time before you are clued in, but I'm looking forward to that part

So far I've written two short stories with the characters from my novel Secunda that have different AUs! I wrote them mostly to explore some fun spicy scenarios that wouldn't otherwise happen in the canon.
One is a modern college setting and the other is occult with a priest/demon dynamic.

I once thought of an AU for August where he was never found by the government and grew up on a farm in Ohio.

Absolutely. I’ve thought up of so many AU’s to my comics universe, I probably won’t get around to a lot of them. But I have one universe where characters are presented in the Renaissance era, one where they’re in space, and one where everyone’s a pirate. Actually, I’m working on an AU project right now:

I do have an idea for an AU for Frostpeak West based off of the original vision I had for this series. It was about a mummy guy and his flying pickup truck. And the humor was more non-sequitur.

I am still struggling to gain an audience with my main series, so I don’t know if also working on an AU would help.

I did make an April Fools based off of this idea

20 days later

My siblings kind of jokingly brainstormed an alternate genre for "Damsel in the Red Dress" where it became an action/mystery, "the accident wasn't an accident...it was plotted by her ex and the losers from the competition to bump her off, but it didn't go as planned and they survived. So now they have to go hunt down the people who attempted their murder..."

So yeah...my family is weird.
