Thanks Nelson! Followed you back on Twitter. Your webcomic looks awesome! Really loving the painterly colors and Franqui's design. smiley

Hi Kenny! Always exciting to see someone else in the game industry on here! I went to school for game art and design myself and am currently trying to work my way up the latter at my current job.
Sadly, I've been highly neglectful of games outside of work lately as I pretty much spend all my free time working on my own comic, City of Blank ahaha. It's okay though, I get my fill of games at work. :'D

Best of luck with your own comic! Dragons are always a good thing!

Hi Riko! I know what you mean about being neglectful of games. The last games I played was Terraria and Team Fortress 2. I haven't played either since I started my webcomic. No regrets, though. laughing

Good luck with your job! I know working in the game industry can be very stressful, but the perks can be equally awesome, right? smiley

Your webcomic looks great! Really digging the colors and the masks! smiley

Hi there!! What an awesome idea and I love your art style. Video game development and dragons? What could be better!!? I always thought it would be cool to make websites. I wish I knew how! cry

I have a comic here called The Great Guardian Ozriel2 and it's about an awkward, otherworldly Guardian meant to protect the Earth and her adventures with a typical college student --- if you're interested! I just recently joined so I'm super new and I'm really excited to meet new people, so I get even more excited when I see people making these introductory forums and sharing comic ideas blush

So . . . hello!! I hope you enjoy Tapastic smiley

Hi Achille! Ultimately, there will also be a Dragons By Design video game. Sometime later this year when I have more time and resources. laughing

Making a basic website is easy to learn and a good step into learning how to code. But managing websites, is lot more complicated. You can start learning how to create a site with the free services like Wordpress and Tumblr. They allow you to insert basic code to customize your site.

I subscribed to your webcomic. The story is really interesting and I'd love to see what Ozriel is capable of. What's the color of her costume? I'd love to do fanart for her. smile

Hi Kenny!

Funny enough, your life path sounds ridiculously similar to mine. I started off as a freelance web designer as well, then I tried to make my own RPG video games, but time wasn't on my side so I had to quit. Anyway, nice to meet you. :]

Ooh, you'll have to let me know when the video game is out! That sounds so cool open_mouth

I tried to do some coding in school but....it didn't go so well for me haha. I'm not so good at it!

Aw and thank you very much! I actually have a DeviantArt account with a bit more pictures on there. Her costume is alternating gray/gold, but you could really take any interpretation on it since I usually draw in black and white. I would love to see your fanart!! blush You'll have to notify me if you make any!

Did you use RPG Maker for the game you tried to make? Nice to meet you too! Your webcomic is so nice! I love how the first pages were purely visual and without dialogue. It's a very lovely approach. smile

Alrighty, I definitely will! smile

Thanks! Your "Drawling Moments" is really cool!

Thanks PJ! It's really awesome and brave of you to write an autobio webcomic.

Thank you!! And exactly! I'm glad someone knows the struggle! |D I haven't really played anything but 3DS games that I can take on the go in god knows how long.

Perks are definitely awesome! Like, at least when I work over time I get free dinner! : D

Hi Kenny! I'm Pixy! smile I saw "RPG video games" and "dragons" and HAD to say hello! So cool! Video games from web site design seems like quite a jump, what made you decide to go that route?

I have a web comic on here called Pixy Byte and it's about all the adventures daily struggles that Pixy, Penguin, Flippers, and Poot go on on a weekly basis. It's kind of goofy, if you are interested! smile lol I haven't been on here for very long, but so far all the people here on Tapastic have been so nice and helpful. Hope you're enjoying this site as much as I am!

Yeah! And the skills you learn just keep improving to the point where you can create your own video game if you wanted.

I really like video games and the technology to create them keeps getting better. The coding and the workflow for both industries is similar (at least for small projects). The stress is certainly similar.

BTW, your webcomic is cute!

Well I'm looking forward to where this is going. I like seeing process of people creating things, and of course that goes for games.

I had a brief stint with the idea of constructing games but it died with a very early version of gamemaker. I actually liked the way you could make sprites in that program. (I even tried to hunt down an old version with the idea of using it only for pixel art.)

Thanks Vikiro! smile

I read on their forums that Gamemaker is coming up with a new version eventually so they had a license sale last year. If you want to tinker with Gamemaker again, a free (but limited) version is still available on Steam.

If pixel art is more your thing, you could also check out RPG Maker.
