Hey - sorry, I'm not sure if I've already asked this question, or if it's been asked before. I guess I should have searched for it in the topics before posting. But, are one shots received well on Tapas? I'm trying to decide about posting mine on here - it'll be around 36 pages, and I was thinking of updating the one shot like the standard - one page a week, or maybe two pages a week. I was originally thinking of adding the one shot all in one update, but that would severely limit the eyes on it, since it would only be in the Fresh Section for like, a day or less.

Would having a one shot, a short story that you already know will end in like, two months of updates, be worth a subscription to keep up with? Or would that just be annoying for you as a reader?

Thanks for any input!

I've done a few oneshots on Tapas and they do not do well here. But that is due to them being very short and very niche. If your oneshot is a popular genre with easy to search for story elements- then you will fair better.

For the most exposure, you should not upload it all at once. Once a week is absolutely fine! If your work is slow paced then I'd say occasionally update twice a week.

The only time I've or what I've witnessed of other readers becoming annoyed is when authors spam announcements or update with a bunch of things that have nothing to do with their comics.

Thanks for the info! That's super helpful to know! I'm honestly debating between Tapas and Webtoon, or just both, to be honest. I figured that, with it being a one shot, the reaction to it from readers would be different compared to a long running series. I just wasn't sure how large of a difference the reaction would be. I mean, I never know until I try. Either way, I'll have something published.

Yah, I think there's a place for them on the platform. My only (for now) comic was a one-shot and did pretty well (although mine was a larger one, ~double in length than yours). Further there are some absolute gems such as:

&

which each did very well for themselves despite being one shots.

I think they work great. I did a one shot that was 7 updates, and it got put into New and Noteworthy and it's my project that still has the most subs of all I got on here. I'm still getting subs for it every once and a while.

I'll need to looka t ComicFury, too, then! Thank you!

That's really cool! Based on what I'm hearing, I'm thinking I'll probably throw the one shot on a couple different websites.

Ooooh, I've looked at Catma, now that you mention it! I think I'm actually subscribed to their official running series they've created.
