I was crossing a street one day and then boom, Crosser's Gate1.
My comic Kalle Hizz1 is sort of a word play. The first comics where set in an elevator and I came up with crazy stuff you could to in an elevator (crazy as in hopelessly awkward :D) In Swedish elevator is called "Hiss" and Kalle (Carl) looks sort of like an animal that could hizz even though he never does so his name Hizz felt like a sure thing. His first name Kalle is a very common substitute/nick name for Carl in Sweden. I wanted him to be different from everyone else, but still normal. He does awkward things that anyone could have made so he's also an average Joe type of person so Kalle it is 
DEAD PARENTS AVENGER1 is a tongue-in-cheek reference to Batman and other superhero comic characters. We liked the idea of a hero who thought very little about his crime punching alter ego and just did stufft gallivanted around a city with a dumb name and even dumber motives.
I capitalize everything in the title because, well, I just feel the DPA has zero online decorum and just shouts DEAD PARENTS AVENGER every chance he gets be it cyber or meat space.
I came up with the name Shadosassins as a term for powerful fighters in my comic a long time ago, however the original name for the story was Duel of Gladiators, which is a tournament in my story. I felt like Duel of Gladiators just sounded like a mouthful and didn't roll of the tongue easily. I tried coming up with names for my comic (including Power Fighters...yep) but none sat well with me. One day the light bulb just went off that since Shadosassins are such a huge part of the story that I should just roll with that as the name. I also really like how it looks misspelled without the W in shadow.
The Ninth Circle4, I chose it because of the allusion to the nine circles of Dante's hell in his Divine Comedy, from which I take some elements for my story

Fallacy3 got its name from the fact that almost all of the conflicts in it stem from bad choices made by the cast. Bad choices ---> break in logic ---> Fallacy. =D I also have fondness for short titles and really like how that word sounds. Plus it has lovely multitude of possible translations into my native language, Finnish, that include subterfuge, delusion and illusion which all are relevant to the story one way or another.
Well, in Africa we have the Big Five (ie: Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino) so when I came up with the concept of them being kids and going on adventures 'The Lil' Five5' seemed like the logical title.
My original name was Not Being Funny (shortened to NBF Comics) but I grew tired of that very quickly and switched to something better. Mainly I didn't want to be another three letter acronym, and also it was too close to PBF Comics, which I love.
The new name has similar roots (ie. the dual meaning of funny: laugh out loud or just strange) but I think is a more memorable url: Ha Ha Peculiar1. Not sure how used it is outside of the UK but when we want to ask what someone meant when they said "funny", we say "fanny ha ha or funny peculiar". And I think both meanings can apply to various updates I've posted. So I'm still happy with it, which is nice!
My comic is called Slappy Toons for 2 reasons
1.) One of the main characters "Slappy" was originally gonna have the comic to himself, but I changed his personality and gave him a friend to go with him in life.
2.) The first few comics were "slapped" together at school just for fun but I decided to post em anyway. So these Slappy Toons were made "Slappy" on purpose

Whell, my comic name, QTRandom, came for 2 reasons:
-First: the characters are cute girls, so, simplified QT.
- Second: it's about 6 cute girls, and the history is all random on each strip, so....
QTRandom3!!
Let's see here, Hazy Daze2 actually came about just by switching words around.
wayyyy back whenever it was i started conceptualizing a story, the premise was pretty much "sad teenagers and why they are sad" and it was called Rainy Days. Because rains are like tear drops and thats totally cool, right? (no)
I later changed the days to dayz because I got a haircut and was all edgy with my "z"s now. Then I realized that "Daze" was a word, and also it kind of fit well with the general feeling, so now i had "Rainy Daze" and i didn't really like the way it sounded anymore.
Thats when I used the Twilight method and got out a thesaurus (actually it was the thesaurus function on whatever ancient version of microsoft word existed when it was in highschool) and eventually found myself to the word "Hazy" and it just kind of fell together from there. The names not really so relevant anymore, but it's just kind of stuck with me and i cant bring myself to change it lol.
I love the reasoning behind names of people's projects.
Well Aimee & Roxy is pretty obvious the two main character are names Aimee and Roxy(clever ain't I?...no? ok). But, Aimee and Roxy is only a small chunk on a larger story I've been developing called Sleeping Among Giants. I got the idea from the fact that we live among things much larger than than ourselves whether it be religion, nature, science, or just metaphorically. I would change the name but I haven't decided on whether to pursue the giants 
.
The title of our comic, Kamikaze1, has a lot of history behind it and...well obviously not all of it is positive.
The name Kamikaze has two definitions:
Commonly translated as “Divine wind,” kamikaze comes from traditional Japanese folklore. In 1274 the Mongols were doing their best to take over Japan. They'd sailed over and managed to conquer several settlements. Then they landed on Hakata Bay, and the local samurai clans were NOT about that. The two armies clashed and the Mongols were totally whipped! They fled to their ships and made preparations to withdraw. Then...a MASSIVE typhoon hit! Most of the Mongol ships sank taking most of the Mongol armies with it. The reminder limped back home, and the Japanese thanked their lucky stars the storm had come. But it was a short lived thing. Seven years later the Mongol fleet came back! But they were having a really hard time finding an area that wasn't protected to make landfall. So the entire fleet just SAT there for months. Of course the Japanese were growing more and more nervous, but then ANOTHER typhoon struck! It decimated the entire Mongol fleet. The Japanese captured around 70,000 men, and the Mongols basically said, "Man, screw this. Your island ain't that nice." Ever since these occurrences, legends say that in times of great peril, a sacred purifying wind would blow across Japan, devastating their enemies and restoring peace.
The more universally known definition comes from World War II when kamikaze fighter pilots undertook suicide missions, sacrificing themselves to meet their objectives.
Our comic is about a freerunning covert operative, codenamed Kamikaze. She's a whirlwind of movement that's been inadvertently swept up in a brutal struggle between powerful forces. Her entire story is about the idea of having the potential to bring harm or the opportunity to be something better than that. Every mission she's on is a roll of the dice to be a beneficial or malevolent force. And every mission she's not guaranteed to come home alive...
My comic used to be named as Trilly&Silly, redirecting the two main characters Trilly and Silerna. As I kept on drawing the comic, more characters started to show up in my work. So the title wasn't really fitting anymore.
It was very simple to give my comic a new name. All characters lived next to each other and in the same neighbourhood!

Back in 7th grade I started making comics and realized I would need a name for the strip. My English teacher has Calvin & Hobbs on the wall in class, one of my favorite comic strips. I brainstormed in front of the comics until I came up with Dobble & Ed. Hobbs turned to Dobbs and then to Dobble.
