How do you guys meet new friends?

Now that I think about it, I barely have any friends for support. Well, how did you become friends?
Actually whenever I try to talk to someone normally I don't get much of a response, even after waiting a few days. Not many people seem to open to want to talk.

If we are talking internet (specifically Tapastic) friends, I think being active in the community is really important here, as well as helping each other out on different projects -whether that be with guest comics, or collabs, etc. It's a great way to open up some doors to meeting new people.

I've made friends through my reviews, as well as through outside Tapastic communities, like the one on kik. You just have to be open to new interactions with people. Being a "Yes" man can help with this in the beginning.

I've met my friends via other friends.

The friend base I've got now, I've gotten throughout going to cons, work and other social events!

It's much more difficult finding friends via the internet, it's possible but I feel like you don't get the same connection as you do when you see each other irl.

(I met my ex boyfriend on a website, we met, stayed together for like 2 years and I became friends with his niece who in her turn introduced me to her mutuals which now are some of my best friends)

I'd suggest you keep going to the same events over and over again, someday you're bound to meet someone you "click" with.

But if you've got an interest, per say, movies, cinema or something, try to attend such things?
Or like here, engage yourself in comics, forums or so, comment on things? You maybe wont always get an answer, but at least you've tried!

I can only speak for myself, but going to events such as Comic Cons and International Comic Fair and talk to the artists or cosplayers has helped me finding more friends with the same interest :D

Internet Friends: I usually just wait for someone to start talking to me about my art and then unleash the charm. Two of my best friends whom I talk to every day are people who started talking to me because they liked my art but then realized they liked my personality as well. We text a lot and skype and send each other images and links that we think the other one will like and even though we started as internet friends we hang out in real life now as well, when we can.
I guess you just have to care about the other person's interests and be there for them when they need you.

IRL Friends: My tactic, is just hang out in the same place all the time? Like there's a cafe near where I work and I started getting coffee there and hanging out. At first I'd bring a book to read or my sketch book to draw in... but then over time I started talking to the other people who hang out there and became friendly with some of them. Proximity is one of the easiest ways to make friends.

My closest art buddy was someone I met through a college friend! I don't have many exclusively online friends -- I'm a pretty slow responder online, so I tend to need all my online friendships to be pretty chill things where we can just respond to each other on twitter now and then and laugh at each other's jokes. :>

becoming someone's friend isnt a matter of following a series of steps. it's something that just happens if you've got good chemistry w/someone and run into eachother a bunch, and thanks to the Chemistry you keep willingly interacting w/eachother.
the "good chemistry" part is really important... and its not something you really have control over, which sucks! like. sometimes you can think a person is really cool and you wanna be friends, but maybe it's just not, like... meant to be? idk. like maybe the feeling is one-sided, or you don't have good opportunities to interact with them... or they're just not looking for new friends atm? you can't really force it... it can be really offputting if you come on too strong w/the whole friendship thing.

I've met all of my online friends via different webcomic sites and mmorpgs i've played. I still interact with all of my friends from back when I played final fantasy 11.

Most of the friends I have in real life, I met them at conventions. I'm a regular cosplay panelist at various anime conventions and I tend to meet a lot of really nice people during my travels from con to con.

I make a lot of interweb friends on twitter and Tapastic! Whenever they post, talk a bunch with them and comment on their work. Really brightens up their day!

I check out other peoples comics. Specifically those that are brand new which you can find by clicking the FRESH button in Tapastic's search feature. If it appeals to me, I subscribe. Maybe comment if I have something of value to say.

A combination of school+social events. I'm kind of not very good at making new friends regularly, because I'm basically a hermit living in the woods, and I'm a little bit shy, but when I find myself meeting people with shared interests, I'm usually able to make friends with them.

I went to a Comics and Visual Arts-college, which means that all my classmates there were interested in similar things as I am - art, comics, animation, etc., - so making friends there was easy! And then I've sort of built from there. Sweden is a pretty small country, which means that when there's a comic-con on, I am bound to meet at least a FEW of my old college friends again (even though the rest of the year we live scattered across the country), which is always nice. And they know more people that they introduce me to, and since I usually have a table at these cons, I can strike up friendships/make acquaintances with the people tabling next to me, etc., etc.

Find somewhere you feel comfortable - be it a coffee shop or a comic con - and just try talking to people. I've found that most people are pretty nice.

As for making friends on the internet.... I've found it's, again, easiest to do this with someone who shares interests with you. You won't become super-best friends from the start, but talking regularly helps, etc. I've made most of my online connections either via Twitter or here on Tapastic (Tapastic is, like, the friendliest place <3).

I belong to a hobby group that meets monthly, and we regularly get new members. I also have a job in a creative industry that tends to attract people for passion rather than money or necessity, so I meet lots of interesting people through that.

I wouldn't say I make friends easily, though. I'm not very good at maintaining relationships, so having an external structure (like a club or team) makes it easier for me to stay in touch with people.

In RL: I used to be part of an anime group were I met many people, and few of them became my friends, also I went to events were I met more. Other people were ones I met online in forums and we lived in the same country (but different cities), two years ago I met in the Pokemon Day in the capital

I'm super shy or think I'm being a pain so I usually don't talk to people a lot. Ironically, I think I hide it pretty well because I confessed this to a classmate and she said she thought I was extraverted and super sociable so...how people perceive you may surprise you!

Online, I mostly talk to people from tumblr, old RP pals, or IRL friends through Skype, but I'm trying to expand on it. I just never know how to approach without feeling pushy haha

I have actually used Tapastic to make new friends. @ErithEl happens to live in my area, so I contacted her and we hung out for a lovely afternoon of comic drawing goodness! It was amazing and I hope to have more of those. Maybe we even find more people.

Finding friends is easiest at places where you and other people work towards a similar goal. Like work or school. Clubs would also fall into such a category. Tapastic in a way, does too.
