Hi, just letting you know I sent you a private message about possibly wanting to work with you. Here's my stuff: https://tapastic.com/iasucomic/series
This kind of slice-of-life gag strip isn't my cup of tea, but that's just my opinion. This is also just my opinion, but I don't care for the color. The thin pinkish lines on white are hard to focus on and feel insubstantial. Overall the color scheme is just too low-contrast for me.
lol. Very sneaky, trying to pawn off your story-writing responsibilities on me. But ya gotta get up PRET-ty early in the morning to pull one over on ol' Ben Saint, yes sir-ree.
If you could post a link so people could see your work, it'd make it a lot easier for you to find collaborators.
Where can I see some of your artwork?
Personally I liked the original colors better. You gotta follow your heart bro. You gotta draw what looks right to you. Feedback is nice but you can't go changin your shit all around based on it
Make friends with famous people and get them to recommend your stuff. That's my plan!
"The Vapors, for what it is and what intends to do, is unassailable" - WednesdayAsh If my comic were a video game, I'd put this on the box. Heh heh. You make a good point about dialogue being overly natural. I'll keep this in mind. You're right that the meaning of the scores he gives is vague. I…
Type: Arc Webcomic name: The Vapors Creative team: Just me Link to series: Here ya go! Which pages / which gag: Pages 1-37 Other: The Vapors will be a miniseries eventually, but for now only the first chapter is out, so let's call that the first "arc". Edit: oops, shoulda read the thread first, di…
If you dont promote your stuff, who will?

I admire art that does more with less. So, if a comic has simple art but still manages to engage me with its story, I respect that. It's a difficult balance to strike, though. A simple artstyle really needs to work with the story being told, otherwise it just feels lazy. Also, theres a differenc…
I don't. Ahahahaha. No, actually I'm pretty sad about it.
I'm on reddit as _saint, and I post on /r/comic_crits occasionally, which is a subbreddit for people looking for feedback on their comics. It's a pretty good subreddit, if a little slow. Maybe some people on these forums would like to check it out?
Genre is kind of a fake concept anyway. Kind of. I guess some people deliberately set out to write within a specific genre. But as a way to categorize art in general, it's a little dubious. There's no hard and fast rule for exactly what separates an Action story, from a Thriller story, from a Horror…
Or you could just draw it digitally in any of a million other ways. Also, I hate the pen tool.
The Vapors - Sad Frustrated Nerds [image]
I'm a physics tutor and I hate it, haha Also I run a podcast that makes a little money, not enough to live on though
They'll be able to see the posts because they're technically a patron, even if they declined their pledge. Don't be too upset with them though, something may have come up unexpectedly that meant they couldn't support you this month. If they patroned you in the first place they must really like your …
If you're set on being a comic script writer, id recommend writing out some scripts on your own, then showing them around to see if any artists would like to pick them up. (its gonna be tough to find one though, most artists would rather draw their own stuff unless they're getting paid)
Tough question. I think The Vapors could be either funny or sad, depending how you look at it. In the end I decided to call it a drama, since the humor isn't overt enough to really feel like a comedy. [image] Like, I found this exchange pretty funny. It's all about the character being disappoin…
SHIT, THE MONOCLE, AARRHHAGGH Edit: couldnt bear it, went back and added the monocle, disaster averted
Woah. That page flows super well. So dynamic, too. That shot-reverse shot really works
I admit i had to look at your comic to understand what shes supposed to look like lol, i wasnt even close. Also i thought the idea of her skin coming off as mist sounded pretty cool so i went crazy with it [image]
He's cosplaying jughead, he sounds like hed be a fan [image]
Drawing all those clothing layers was pretty intense [image]
I admit i checked your comic to find his clothing, please forgive me lol [image]
Dang... that is some fancy drawing
I used the other one as a template for this one, since you said they look similar [image]
