I don't think I was even making comics back in 2009, but here's my improvement from 2017:
to 2019:
I don't think I drew any comics in 2009 but here's something from 2007!
And here's something recent:
At least I've learned how to draw straight lines.
2009.... 2009........... i dont think i have anything i drew when i was 9???
i think this is from 2010?? give or take a year. i think i made some comics as early as 2010, but theyre all lost to the wind
and this is from the latest chapter of my comic:
EDIT: oh, i didnt see the 'comics' part in the title... oops
I made a lot of comics as a kid but I don't have any scanned, the most comicy things I have on the computer is like separate drawings I liked to play as slideshows... (Sorry I'm not gonna go take pictures)2009
Well... I haven't drawn much in 2019 due to writing my thesis, but I can show some stuff from 2018 and older XD
Here's for a character design/redraw:
And this is a manga page in comparison:
If anyone is interested in reading it, here's the link =)
2013
2019
i dont have anything from 09 but heres my very first one from 2010/11-ish vs 2019
but like ofc the difference would be drastic because its age 12 vs 20
i posted my first comic in 2016 lol i still think i've grown a lot
Heck, seeing how everyone here has improved so much makes me want to check out all of your comics! O_O
Let's keep on drawing!
Lovelies. I'm gonna do ya'll one even better and just go back circa 2003 (and that's me guessing).
When I was small (like 4-5 years old), I would take a bunch of printing paper, fold it, staple it together like a book, and then make my comics like that. And this went on for years up into middle school, when I just opted to using notebooks. I doubt I'll be able to find most of that stuff, but my mom helped save a lot of the earlier things into a neat binder.
Compared to what I do now in 2019:
Little kid Jenny would flip her shit.
I can't go all the way back to 2009 since I was still in primary school and not really drawing anything buuuuuuut...
Here's 2012.
Edit: It's entirely a coincidence that the characters have the same outfit I was completely unaware before this second lmao
OMG! i havent checked this out since 2009!!!
2019.. id say ive grown up a bit
THE GLOW UP. it's so strong, you have all advanced in your skill and artistic observations by sublime leagues! This is one heck of a motivational thread to peek through, wow. Let's check out my comic skills. Hopefully I've grinded enough since 2009...
My biggest leap to note is that I'm virtually 90% digital now whereas 10 years ago, I was all traditional, heh^^ I love this, hoping to chronicle some crazy developments in 10 more years!
It's always Amazing to see how people grow and improve as artists. Most of us don't even really realize it till we look back and see how far we have come. It's inspirational to say the least.
I don't have any comic art from 2009 but I did this page back in 2013
And this one features the same character from 2017
Oh, that's a nice one. People, you are so great!I actually don't have comics from 2009, because I never drew any, but I have 5 pages of sketches from 2007 like this one, omg
My first real comic is Master of Keys from 2016, I think it is more accurate to compare today's art to it.
So, I think I'm not doing half bad with Hexameron now.
I haven't posted in the forums in forever but this looks interesting-
My word, my art was terrible 10 years ago! And this is one of the few pages I'm not too terribly embarrassed to share. D:
2009 using Paint Tool Sai for art, Gimp for text. an old comic series I started in high school but cancelled about a bit in on Chapter 2 since I was fairly new at trying to make my own story. It was called Loki which was about a fox who escaped from a evil lab and on his way he meets up with other characters that were similar to him.
Around after 2012 I stopped on doing comics digitally and tried to get back after returning from college, this was actually a story in relation to what I'm working on now but at a different timeline. Originally I was supposed to work on that but I needed to work on the story more and develop the characters.
2019 using Clip Studio Paint of my current story Revenants and the Child of Autumn
I can only find as far back as 2012 as far as comic pages go, so here you go. xD Can you believe these are the same characters? LOL
Click this, it's too long. owo
those guys look cool and badass
2009 - Local Teen Needs to Put Down Blending Stick . vs 2019 - Broke Adult Regrets Using Color
But seriously, whenever I feel really down about my art, I remind myself how happy and amazed tiny me would be by what I can do now.
Here's to ten more years of comics!
