How many hours do you work on your comic per day/week?

1. How many hours a day or a week you spend on working on your comic?

2. and how long have you been doing this?

1. I work about an hour/day on my comic. A few more hours on the weekends. I used to work several hours a day, but that was before having kids haha
2. I've been doing webcomics since 2010.

I've just been working and finishing a page the same day and do one page a day. That... quickly overwhelmed me. So I'm goin to try and allot 2 hours a day or so and see how that works for me

i tend to mark out my weekends for comics. thats maybe like... 16 hours a week. I guess you could add on bits of time here and there for scripting and thumbnailing but basically its ~16 hours a week, which ive been doing since spring 2017.

Anywhere from 30 minutes a day to 8 hours a day. ^_^' Depending on how much I feel like working on them vs. How much I want to do other things/have to do other things.

I also need quiet time, so...I only really give myself 8 available hours to work.

A page should take me 1-2 hours at most but I keep getting distracted by Youtube videos and memes and whatnot, so it usually takes me 4 days.

Not as much as I should probably, but also I don't have a lot of huge obligations for it right now other than doing it for myself and friends. I can't gauge the demands of whatever readership exists because people don't really interact with me, so most of the pressure just comes from myself. If it was there, eh maybe I would even start a schedule or something. Who knows.
But, typically, I can ink and scan two pages a day if i'm working to the best of my ability. I can't say too much for distractions, I have trouble focusing on one thing for so long and tend to bounce from thing to thing.

Complexity of the page also has a huge handle on how much time I spend working on something too. So maybe something like 7-8 hours a page? (that's with drafting time which can be a couple of hours)

I should really keep track of this kind of stuff, but this is just a guess so 'bear' with me:

On a good non depressing week I can get about ten strips done within two days. On a bad week anywhere between 4-5 days just to complete 3 strips. (I spread my work between days to work with my job and school schedules.)

Online I've been doing it for well over 5 years, and I've only missed I think 4 release days including the one I missed recently.

When I first started my webcomic I was working on 4 pages every 2-3 weeks...at the end of it, I was near burned out.

Since starting the 2nd chapter back in March, Ive been working on one page per week- but I can do a page in 3 days. Day one I do the pencils; day 2 I ink- and I might lay down some of the background flats for coloring. Day 3 I color & letter the page.

At the moment I'm in a small between-chapters-hiatus and I try to do 1-2 pages per week. Usually one page takes me between 4-8 hours =) If I really speed things up I can do 3 pages per day, but on the long run my wrist will kill me for that (been there, done that!)

How many hours a day or a week you spend on working on your comic?

This jumps around from week to week because my working hours are not set. In the average working week, I spend about 2-3 hours a day in the evening and maybe 4 hours a day on the weekends. I guess it works out to around 20 hours a week.

It takes me about 5 hours to make a 6 box page so that's 4 comics a week... But some of them are longer or I procrastinate or I end up in a time loop, redrawing the same arm fifty million times.

and how long have you been doing this?

Actual comics, not long. Maybe a year. Illustration has been a life long thing.

It depends on the page, sometimes I need to draw for 4-8 hrs because sometimes I change my mind about an story but usually I draw/paint 2 or 3 pages partially in a day, I do this since 20.6.17 approx

Hey!

1. It really depends in what state and moodset I am. for example, I made four pages just for about eleven hours in a road but I guess it's a rare case. Usually it would take me between 3 and 5 hours, but that always can vary as it depends on the complexity of the page.

I personally don't work on it everyday but whenever i feel i want to , i want to enjoy the whole proccess and not to push myself into it.

1. It really depends how much I've got to do for college. On some days I have no time for my comic, on ohter days I can spend 6 to 8 hours on it. Can spend, I procastiante a lot!
   I'd say per week I spend about 8 hours on my comic. It's been probably less the past month and now I actually have more time than that, but that should be the average.
2. I started drawing comics in 2015, but I started calling it a hobby in Spring 2016 with this series.

However, it still wasn't a serious thing for me until I started my current series in October 2016, where I tried out what kind of comics I want to make, just to end up sticking to my main cast from the first series xD

I set myself a goal of two pages per week. They take around 6/8 hours to be done; the rest of my drawing time (from 1 to 4 hours a day) usually go for other projects.
I decided for a very easy style for DAWN OF THE DAD because I wanted to be able to keep on deadlines without worrying too much. I really prefer to work slowly and enjoy what I'm doing, rather than spend a bunch of hours on each page

1. Honestly, I can care less about the time I spent on making comics. It's like paying attention to the amount of hours people play video games. They don't really express to people "I've spend 17 hours playing street fighter" or something like. They enjoy it for the love of the craft.

To answer the question, when I was making chapter 1 of Osca . I'd spent almost the entire day to do a page. But, taking short breaks in intervals. Spent five hours on the comic & watch a new episode of my favorite show for 30mins and get back into the project.

The more you practice the faster you become. I find myself still doing long hours of my comic--even when I'm developing speed.

Whenever I can really with work and school comic making is just a hobby the writing is what takes me a while, but i've been drawing for close to 10 years i think i don't know lol don't really pay attention to it anymore I just do it

Doing a daily comic with about 5 pages uploaded daily, I do roughly 4 hours/day or between 25-30 hours/week.
