How many hours do you work on your comic per day/week?

I don't do comics, but I write.

I've been writing for about four years now, and I try to write every day. The only way to get better is to practice, so that's my goal. I do want to start drawing, though, and I plan to do that soon.

your comic art is nice and pretty detailed with the full perspective background,how long does it take in average to finish one page?

The work is split between me and the writer, so maybe not as long as it could take. Haha, I spend about 5-8 hours on the lineart and shading. Colors and letters are done by Terri, which probably takes her another 5 hours or so. So I think total hours is around 10-13 hours per page?

I spend about 30 to 40 hours a week divided between scrioting, storyboarding and penciling. I usually ink only after all my pencils are done.

It depends on the time of the year.During the school year, I have less time, so I try to put in around 1-2 hours a day. During the summer, I'm putting 3 hours a day.

When I first making comics in grade. 8 (about 7 years ago) I used to put in 2-3 hours on weekdays and often 8 hours on weekends. While, it sounds like I was more productive when I was younger, I think a schedule with fewer hours of comic-ing per day is more helpful because I have more time to develop my art otherwise (which still helps my comic anyways XD)

Before my new job about 8 hours a day. Now I'm lucky to get 2-3 hours on some days.

depending on how many panels there are in a page, I have worked upwards to 10 hours on a single page. Also, I do multiple pages a week (Usually one every other day to one every four days) And the reason they take so long, is shading. Shading is my worst nightmare, and it always has been. Every art stream I do I complain about it lol, but I have only been doing this for about six or seven months, so, maybe with more experience I'll get better and faster at it. As for the page that took me the longest... Any page with this new character that I've been simply calling "Shadow" since he's the main character's shadow. Depending on my work schedule, hours per day on the comic can range from two to twelve. Days off are usually completely dedicated to some part of Legio Arcana

Since starting it a few years ago, there's probably only been about week where it was not worked on in some capacity

I have spend about two hours on each page, I usually set up a timer that counts down from two hours.

I usually pause it when I'm being ADD or doing something else.

I try to spend 2 hours a day at least dedicated to the comic, even I'm not drawing.

So CRUD gets at least 10 hours a week of love and attention.

(The timer on a separate screen REALLY helps though.)

I'm bad at scheduling and have no sense of time, so saying preciesly how much time I use a week on comic making is a though one.

Short answer is whenever I have time and energy for it.

Long answer is, that I try to work on it at least two days a week, but sitting down and working efficiently is a bit thought, and I go back and forth drawing, watching youtube, drawing, read up on fora, etc. all day, so how many hours I draw is hard to say.

I've starting up at a new place for my internship tomorrow also, and they are very accepting around my comc and say I should use work hours on it, so hopefully I will get more organised in the future

A rough hour guess would be about 4-8 hours a week though.

I forgot to add that while I spend that many hours per week, I rarely finish a page a week. Rather I do pages in bunches. I will do like half a chapter (about 12 pages or so) at a time.

So I will take a week and do all pencils.
Then take two weeks and do inks.
Than maybe another two weeks to do screentones.
Another week or two for editing and text.

So maybe a month and a half / 6 weeks for a dozen pages. It works out to about 2 pages a week when divided out, but I put a lot of detail into my comics. I also work by hand on paper working traditional methods and it does add up the time. xnx I added a page for reference.

1. Hmm... I have a really bad concept of time, and it really varies - it could be 3 hours on a busy week, or 15 during summer break!
2. Including planning time, I've probably been doing CLL for a bit over a year now.

I have school (and a LOT of homework.. i guess that is what happens when you try and do three years of work in 2) and dance classes, so i mostly work on weekends.

Because i use a mouse and/or my laptop trackpad it takes me a lot longer than it would if i drew on paper or used a drawing tablet. I usually dedicate at least two hours for drawing but i don't always work on my comic. I would love to link it but its not posted yet

and for how long ive been doing this, only just started. I'm only on my third proper page

My comic is in full colour, so it does take a lot of time to just finish one page. However I don't know the exact hours because I don't have a schedule of any sort. I kinda like to draw a bit and then take a break, then draw some more again and so on. I usually draw a few hours in the morning and then a few hours in the evening along the week. I think the fastest I've ever finished a page was in two days but then it was basically taking all my time to work on it and was very stressful. I don't recommend that.

I've been working on my comic for three years now. Not counting the planning process, though. In the beginning I worked a lot slower but now drawing the comic has become a part of my daily routine.

What I'm doing now: 5 hours a week.

Each page takes me 2-3 hours each, from writing to finished.

I was doing the same thing in the beginning, thought I can get further by cramming in more hours after another, but it made me lost motivation instead, so I'm just takin it easy for now and the entire creating process is much more enjoyable
