At the moment, Amazement Comics has 220+ characters. This includes all main, supporting, and antagonistic characters. The goal is to try to get at least half of these characters fully fleshed out (assuming at least one person is willing to try to understand these characters, that's what the character guide is for). How many characters do you have in total? Named or upcoming? Anyone counts really.

Lost count. Some aren't named or in the process of renaming, and some have no names and are for character study purposes only. It's a LOT, my comic's cast doesn't even get close to the amount of larger universe characters and unrelated ones.

do background characters count? if not I have 4 in the first chapter and there will be an additional 5 in chapter 2

If by "remotely important" you mean anybody that done something on the screen, then I have 12, I guess, with 7 being main (Or at least, recurring) characters.

When I first started writing, I felt I wanted to include every character that I had in mind so my story would look cool. Maybe because I did not really have a clear image of the plot at that time, nonetheless, I guess I was able to adjust the purpose of the existence of those characters in the story...making some side origins, maybe include a page or two to expand the characters...so fat so good

Let's see... TreasureHUNT!!'s first season had a total of 15 characters, although most of them were minor characters that only appeared in 1 or two scenes.

Look at my outline for S2 so far... I have 5 new prominent characters so far, 2 minor characters, and some large-ish number of background throwaway characters that I'll design on the spot lol.

So I guess at this point, 22?

Well, The Stars Above Us Chapter 1 has about 13 characters that appear, or are going to appear. There definitely will be more in later chapters though.

I did a quick list for Crow's Worth (which has a hefty cast). If I only count characters who were given names so far, there is about 30. However, about half of them are not really going to be fully developed or will just have a very brief back story. I am also noting that about 10 characters have been cut, either due to being replaced, merged with another character, or being in a story line that was cut.

Around 23 with personalities, names, designs and all that (well, except a couple parents I haven't drawn yet). There's more people that I know exist in my story but I'm not counting them until I know them x'D

All of them exist in the world of my comic, although not all get to actively appear in it. Around 15 of them will appear in the comic (even if it's just in one panel).

I tend to focus way more on develop my characters a lot than in making new ones, I literally don't know how people can keep track of 100+ characters >.>"

It's easier than you would imagine. Also, it takes years to create and polish said number of characters.

NTN has a minimum of 10 "core" characters, going up to prob 16? 18? I work in pairs (foils). But total number of characters in my writings HAHAHAHAHAH I'm looking at 100 in the mirror, baby.

I really don't think it's a matter of time tho. I'm not a senior in comic making by any means but I've been working on the same story for around 6 years.

I'd say it's all a matter of your mindset while working on the world. I only add the secondary characters that affect the characters directly (family, an important past friend, etc) and it's most likely because I get super carried away everytime I have to work on a new character x'D I'd probs wouldn't be able to get as involved with that many characters, that's just not the way I work :3c

I know for a fact you can have hundreds of pretty interesting characters, but it just doesn't work for me

Hexameron has 2... okay lol, 8 main characters including the Guest + I guess for now it's 3 more important characters like Pavla.

Master of Keys basically has 3 characters.

One sci-fi comic in progress has 2 MC, another one - 4.

School of elements has 8 main characters + around 6 characters I'd consider important.

13 Worthy of Death has (huh!) 13 characters + like 6 more other guys to kick those 13 around.

Honestly, I lost count. In just one comic I have about 30 characters.

I have like three other stories in progress and lot of characters that just are there. I can think of new characters like crazy. I had a friend once and we did rp a lot. I ended up making over 400 characters, but I don't use like 99% of them anymore, so I don't think they count.

53 characters for 6 unrelated universes, +/- a few more

A while ago, I counted every notable character I could think of from every story I've written in the past 15 years or so. It ended up being 300+, mostly thanks to a couple of particularly large storyverses I've written/contributed to, haha.

Uhhh are we talking within our comic's canon or just characters we've created period? Because I have like, literally hundreds of those.

Again, any and ALL characters. If they show up in one panel of a comic, or if its a crowd, that doesn't count.
