I didn't say it's a need, I always used "should" and is my opinion not a fact or something, plus, I also said "doesn't have to be romantic" believe me, I don't even read romance, cause all stories follow the same patterns. We are humans that's all I'm saying, we have a little bit of everything, and if is not asexual or aromantic at least something there happens even a thought crossing the character's mind, I'm just saying there are many things that should be taken into account before erasing or adding romance on the plot. Circumstances, personality, the direction the story is taking, not just because you believe romance is not always necessary, of course is not, now the question is does your story need it? That's why I said before that that's up to the author to decide, cause we don't know the character nor the circumstances.
