Personally, I would be honored if someone liked my characters enough to simp for them

I suppose it wouldnā€™t be entirely unnatural for people to think one of my characters is attractive.

I guess if it becomes the center of someoneā€™s comments on comics, then it would become annoying.

If it's an adult character, I would not care. I honestly don't get upset about that sort of stuff. If you want to write saucy fanfics about them, I would probably read them. lol

If it was a kid character... I would probably be concerned.

I would be flattered, as long as they didn't make rude comments about the other characters, haha.

Itā€™s already happened a couple times and it makes me laugh. I take it as a compliment! I love hearing peopleā€™s thoughts on my characters, good and bad! Simping is just kind of a thing in any piece of fictional media lol!

I honestly would be like: ā€œIā€™m not surprised. I draw my characters very beautifully.ā€

Iā€™ve had two of my characters get called dilfs. I must be doing something right. Youā€™re not alone.

As long as said character is 18+ I don't have a problem with it UNLESS ur my dad. DAD STOP COMMENTING THAT THE VILLIAN IS A PRETTY BOY PLEASE IM BEGGING YOU  :cry_02:

(okay it's kinda funny BUT STILL)

Tbh, I would probably be the one simping. I always leave a like to everything I do and a comment.

I am my number one fan always talking to myself.

But besides that I would probably say something like "Yeaaaah!!" Or "Best Character out there amiright?". I tend to encourage simping for my characters. By being the number one simp.

P.S. If I could I would even like the comment I just left.

Same I'd be honored and always fun to see ppl express their love for something in comments. Many in the cast are hotties so not surprised (the adults that is).

on 2nd thought if they show it for a minor aged that would be creepy, had that happen in deviant art in the past but I just ignored the message.

To an extent, I would feel honored. While none of my characters are meant to be attractive, knowing they're attractive and have enough appeal to form such an interest in them is nice. People finding humanity in your characters and treat your character like a person to some extent is something great

However, I would feel less appreciative is the comment of simping is disturbing or inappropriate, the person is lusting on a kid, and it is being excessive that they only focus on the look of the characterā€”not their personality or story. The latter is pretty important for me, as sometimes I feel relieved that my characters aren't eye candies that people will more likely to like them because of who they are.

I love those comments! They're fun and it shows that people like my characters, so that's always great. I especially loved people simping for a female character I introduced in my last book because everyone was very willing to forgive her crimes. :joy:

Iā€™d be flattered, tbh. Though I donā€™t have any artwork of Kolupati, I thought of her as insane mentally ill hot woman so. You know :yum: (Please simp for the Hummingbird Goddess)

If a flirty eyeless ghost catches your fancy, who am I to judge tooā€¦And Libum is attractive, in my mind. I think theyā€™d all be surprised to find that people find them attractive.

I only did printed comics, but IĀ“m insulted when you donĀ“t simp for my characters because
they are beautiful

Since I don't do comics, it'd have to be based on how I've depicted them through my story telling and they're dialogue. So as an author, any amount of favor any character of mine gets, for any reason, is super appreciated, because it's the way the character is written that people are falling in love with.

I love seeing simps in the comments :joy: I have a Hot Vampire LadyTM in my comic and Iā€™ve gotten a few comments like ā€œI would let her kill me in an instantā€ and they always make me laugh

I have had people simp for two of my characters, it's very funny xD

Tadaaa

It's a nice thing if you see other people really enjoying your characters to this kind of degree.
I think all of us feel happy if your work is being loved

I mean, they simp over a guy with no nose and a dude that looks like a severely underfed eel. I can only respect them for that :purple_heart:

Iā€™d be honoured. I mean who wouldnā€™t simp for these two?

Owen is definitely a DILF:

And Evander is the hottest little cinnamon roll:

Lol what a question.

I guess go for it. If someone finds particular interest in my characters, then by all means, enjoy that fantasy.

That's a bucket list thing for me actually. One of those "you've made it" moments.

I have a bunch of characters that are around 16ish, so I might be a little weirded out by someone simping for them... if they're also a teenager then I don't find it weird at all, but obviously i can't tell cuz we're online. I would try not to let it get to me, I can't police that, we're on the internet and it's fictional characters.

But if it's my older characters, then it's just hilarious no matter what. You wanna simp after my B-tier art? More power to you ig XD
Listen I simp after Sora I just think sheā€™s pretty

I would weirded out bc both characters are like around 14 (it's not specified) and I draw in a very cartoony style so I would say they don't look like adults whatsoever.

That's what happens every single time Anopheles appears in an update, people are feral for him :cry_02: I find it funny, it's literally one of my marketing strategies to go "Hey... there's a hot cult leader man in my comic, you should read it (very effective).

I've had a few people tell me they read my comics strictly because they love one or two characters.

My usual reaction online is, I thank them. But offline I'm flattered to high heaven. (Ā“āˆ€ļ½€) Honestly makes my day when someone says they like my characters.

Adding to this since a lot of people are bringing it up (and my main characters are also teenagers): I don't feel like "simping" for a fictional character always has to be inappropriate? Could be that the simp is a teenager, could be Very Strong But Platonic feelings, etc. So I wouldn't necessarily find it weird for someone to attach themselves to my underage characters unless they started making gross comments about them, lol.

Ah, I interpreted "simping" as being inherently romantic and/or sexual, but if it's just platonic(?) simping that's totally chill.

From what I understand, the slang word "simp" was originally defined as a guy who would do absolutely anything for a girl he finds attractive, in hopes that she might return the attraction. Obviously the meaning has morphed over time, it now just kinda means "person who is attracted to someone" but I've never seen a platonic interpretation of the word.

That might be on me tbf, I don't always understand slang lol. But I'm pretty sure I've heard people use it in an aromantic way??

God I'd be so hype. I frequently simp for my own characters. I really hope folks simp
