My advice I would give to myself is "don't bite off more than you can chew". It means don't set up a schedule if you don't feel like rushing on a comic and take your time to study anatomy before launching your comic.

Also, ask for people's critiques on the art style and premise of your story.

I would tell myself to just DO IT and POST IT and STOP redrawing the beginning a gazillion times because NOBODY is going to notice the flaws in the same way that I do. If you keep redrawing because your art improves (as it naturally does over time) then you'll get stuck in a cycle of constantly redoing the beginning.

I did (and still do) a lot of mistakes, but none is really worse than the others, so I don't really have regrets. I'm happy to have improved, but don't really see specific things I'd wish to have known beforehand.

The only thing I would definitely do different is to harass my (editor) spouse CONSIDERABLY MORE to make them edit my comic, in order to be able to publish in English rather than in Frenglish
Now the first chapter is edited, but I'm slow, very slow to make the changes.

To choose more simple drawing style. I spend too much time to draw in my current style. I reuse my old art a lot, but YET for my skill level it still requires several hours per average panel. Yes, I know that it doesn't look like something, requiring such a long time. But it is.

Start EARLY with a not so-serious comic (AKA a comic that doesn't really have a overarching plot), like the one I'm kinda doing now, BUT EARLIER so that way you have a LARGER audience in comparison to starting late with no audience at all.
