I'd be a rich character because going on adventures might mean getting killed.

At least I can stay in my gated mansion loaded up with MREs and protected by drones while SHTF :joy:

Funny how the two main characters of my comic are in each category. Xivian is the rich guy and Mev lives in the woods and has fun adventures. If I had to choose between Mev or Ian’s lives I think I would choose Mev’s. It would be fun to live in a house I made myself and (If I wasn’t morally against it) stealing stuff from random people to survive.

Adventure. I'd like to join my characters when they travel through time.

Nothing is more annoying than this universe

And I mean the one we live in :joy: :joy: :joy:

My work just takes place in the real world. But there are mer-people and vampires.

Real. However, counterpoint in my universe that really annoying and obnoxious co worker or person in class is a vampire literally draining the life out of you.
And famous people are witches that cursed their way to the top.
So our annoying societal standards with an abnormal explanation :joy:

I'd be a rich character who goes on adventures! Nothing's stopping me from doing both... :smirk:🤭:yum:

Neither, I would not want to live in the world of my story.
As Rose put it in one of the chapters, it's a world that is a lot like Europe of the late 19th/early 20th century, and some of the similarities are incredibly worrying.

Going on an adventure means joining the army and going overseas to fight wars of colonial expansion or having to fight fantasy ww1 ,and being rich does not preclude you from facing severe consequences for being LGBT.

do I have to, even if I know what is going to happen in that world,

BTW try VOLKEMORD

ACTION SCIENCE FANTASY VISUAL NOVEL

General synopsis: In 2158, global tensions between Arga and Yuropa push the world to the brink of the Third Territorial War. But before conflict can erupt, an apocalyptic event splits the planet in half, wiping out half of humanity, restricting the alive to go and access the resources on the other side of the blinding light. As the survivors rebuild their lives within the safety of Dome cities, monstrous creatures emerge from the chaos, ravaging everything in their path.

Amidst the destruction and uncertainty, a group of soldiers embarks on a desperate mission. Driven by their noble cause to protect and reclaim what is lost, they confront the terrifying truths of their harsh new reality. Racing against time, these brave souls face unimaginable challenges as they fight to safeguard the remnants of humanity and possibly save the entire world from total annihilation.

Rich, because my main character is already rich and she doesn't really go on adventures she just sits and does 1800s child stuff(before the incident lol), so I'd just join them in doing regular 1800s nobility stuff - having a cup of tea while they drink themselves blind blabbing about gods know what.
(Even though realistically I wouldn't really be free in those times lol)

As for me, this is a very complicated question
I have a comic and a novel so I'll start with the comic

If I where in alpha squad, i would probably prefer to be rich rather than an adventurer because the earth in alpha squad is basically the real life earth but about 70 years into the future so if I'm rich, I can enjoy my life but if I'm an adventurer like Jack and the crew, that would mean going on dangerous space missions that could be life threatening and why would I want to do that? I like it, yeah......but not enough to actually do it . ( But that's not the full story)

The world of through mortal eyes is a slowly deteriorating one. And average joe would be caught up in the evil and the adventurer are at life threatening danger going up against what they don't understand so there is no preferable position to be in. If I were rich in the land of Eldergrove now at the current state in which the story is, I don't think it will matter because I would be influenced by the evil and end up as a casualty of civil unrest but my money would at least lessen that possible a bit but not entirely and if I'm an adventurer like the protagonist, Jack and Eamon, i would be at great risk of death because I'm going against the very evil itself, making me a prime target and this is not a fairy tale story or cartoon where character have toon force so they can't die...... meaning i could get killed.
But still if I were to choose, I'd choose being rich because I have a greater chance of survival

I’d pick adventure in a heartbeat, most of my protagonists aren’t rich at all but they go on all sorts of bizarre surreal travels. But really I enjoy experience over material wealth, so even if it wasn’t my story I’d still pick adventure. Sure, there’s like not good stuff included with adventure, but for me being able to live some crazy life sounds more enjoyable than just having money.

Irl I’m definitely already on weird adventures and have like no money :skull:, but I’m still having fun out here :dizzy::sparkles: I’m not very old but I already think my life has been very interesting. If I never get rich that’s okay but I need to have an adventure >:0

Me personally? I'm way too delicate to adventure on my world. Old Sarzonn is a harsh place to live under normal circumstances, let alone fighting for survival as an adventurer outside the walled city. No way. :cry_02: I'd never make it, so we'll probably have to go with a rich homebody.
