I see talk about promotion of your story, which is obviously a part of it. But after giving a look at your novel (Feathery White Wings is the one I'm assuming you're focusing on right now,) I have a couple suggestions that might also help.
So, consider that the forums aren't going to be a great place to pick up long term readers. You're going to get more readers through the main site. It should be obvious, but you're usually gonna see an uptick in readership on the days you update. Sticking to a consistent update schedule can help. On the days you don't update, your story is going to slowly fall further down on the popular / recently updated pages. I'm pretty sure your story will maintain the "UP" tag for three days.
By the looks of it, your story updates once every two weeks. So, knowing that, it means that after those first three days, your story is gonna be buried again and almost impossible to find until you update with a new chapter OR someone is specifically searching for tags related to your story. From what I can see, your story doesn't have any tags. Since I don't know what your story is about, It'd be hard for me to suggest tags, but maybe poke through other novels within your genres and see if you can get an idea for what kind of tags might apply and work with your story.
Next, your synopsis is a little short on details. It's the first thing people are going to read when browsing for novels, and you have to try to hook them then and there. If your synopsis fails to grab people, they aren't going to click into the chapters. With your synopsis as it is right now, I don't have any idea what your story is actually about, beyond it involving a group of four people. But that's information I could gather from the cover art alone. I'd suggest detailing a bit about this "quest" your characters are going on. Is it fantastical and they're going to face danger and hardships? Is this a quest of lower stakes? Personal growth and discovery? Just like with the tags, I suggest peeking at a few stories and see what others have done with their synopsis to give yourself an idea. It might spark a bit of inspiration in how you can add a little more polish to your own.
Anyway, here's a TL;DR:
1. Stick to an upload schedule. Twice a week, once a week, every other week; doesn't matter, just make sure you are consistent.
2. Add some tags to your story. It'll help people find it outside of the recently updated page.
3. Try putting a little more detail into your synopsis. It can help catch reader attention that way.
