I'm watching a anime that I don't have much interest in watching, the name of that anime is Sword Art Online Alicization. It doesn't grab my interest like how The Rising of The Shield Hero did but I guess I should still watch it because it would probably inspire me in some way right?

... No? If it doesn't become better after some time (insert the amount of episodes you're willing to try), might as well drop it and go for something different, that could potentially be better.

Don't waste time watching something you don't like........don't make anime your homework.

I watched the previous Sword Art Online seasons and they were good, I don't know this one. If it bores you after watching at least 3 episodes, leave it.

Out of curiosity, why are you looking to SAO for inspiration? This series has been so criticized to death for its writing that it's become a meme to hate on it :skull:

Also, genuine answer from someone who watched the first 12 episodes because it was hyped up by readers to be a great continuation of the novel.. In my opinion, it was not what it was hyped up to be. I felt generally bored and disconnected throughout most of it, and I felt especially awful watching episode 10 just like the vast majority of people. I stopped watching it soon after.

I'm looking to SAO for inspiration because I was thinking of writing a story about being in a digital world.

I don't know anything about memes or whatever (unfortunately people I know actually LIKE it) but having twice tried to watch it, Sword Art Online kind of feels like trash to me. It was just so boring, the characters were extremely one dimensional, and nothing new or interesting really happened.

Also, if you want inspiration about digital worlds just play some video games and think about what it'd actually be like to be in them. Do a first-hand experience, not a second-hand knock off.

This theme has been done to death so you really want to come at it from a fresh perspective, not regurgitated anime.

Edit: Oh, and watch that one movie with Ryan Reynolds being a video game character because it's amazing.
