I'm new to making comics and wanted to try making a short comic but i don't really think my art is good enough and i get too paralyzed to even start

My main goal is that i just want to improve my art skills and writing but I'm just so nervous. Here are examples of my art

Looks good enough to me.

This is my art when I started making comics

Yes!

It's always good enough to start making comics! Never wait until that magical spot of being "good enough", because if you approach it like that, you'll never begin.

So, start now. Start small. Have fun.

Oh that's a nice style though! And honestly, don't worry. The only way to improve is by just starting on it, it's what has worked for my writing and drawing.

Your art is absolutely good enough to start a comic, and trust me once you start your art will improve very quickly as you have to draw a lot of things you otherwise wouldn’t. I recommend just starting now even if you don’t think you’re good enough. You’ll improve quickly and you can always redraw some of the early parts if you’re not satisfied with them in the future.

I say just start no matter what level you're at. I'm using my comic to learn how to draw too. It's fun, and many people aren't over thinking you're art as much as you are so don't worry! You'll get better the more you do it

I totally agree with @midnightsun-- just the simple act of trying to make a comic will teach you so much more than 'preparing' ever will. Even if you don't finish; even if you quit and start over...and over, and over. All those attempts will train you into the confident comic artist you wanna be. :thumbsup: At least, that's how it went for me. ^^;

I love your art style! It's adorable!! :yellow_heart:
I agree with everyone, you should start whenever you're comfortable! If you don't think your art is good enough, you can start by making a short comic and improve along the way!
You'll be surprised how much you can improve within a few episodes (cuz I was!)

If you ever think your art isn't good enough, just remember that one of the most successful webcomics of all time is drawn entirely with stick figures.

Anyway, your art style looks quite nice! And I agree with what others are saying that the best way to improve is to just go for it.

GO FOR IT!!!

Regardless, how you feel about your art, just dive it!!!! Learn as you go... that's the spirit... this is how it goes.

So, yes, it's perfect enough to start a comic. I approve 1000%!!

Finish a short comic with your current skill level,
script, thumbnails, sketches, ink, color, lettering

Then get into the review mode. Review it yourself first,
what can be done better. Example from my experience:
character sheets before making the comic are a good idea.

Then show the comic to experienced artists that you trust.
I did this with specific questions and for random critique.
The learning effect was huge and I got some great advice.

Then prepare the next short comic and that´s the point
where you improve your skills because you learned from
the first comic.

There are some things that you only learn when creating sequential
art but I also think it´s good to take little breaks between pages and
improve on things that you still suck at and learn some fundamentals,
practice some basics. And I also think it´s a mistake to only practice
basics and to wait for a certain "good enough" moment because
that moment will never come

Someone is going to tell you you suck.

More often than not that someone is you.

But you don't stop sucking until you actually sit down and put in the effort, so get making.
