I have also gotten comments from trolls and jerks. However, I have always set aside time to understand where the other person was coming from. Maybe they didn't know what they were talking about, and maybe I didn't know what I was talking about.

LMAO, it's funny because I got the same thing with my gay comic and what I did was to IGNORE that person. I'm not going to entertain nonsense. I'm trying to tell a story. I'm not here to draw porn to fulfill your gay fantasy so move around lol :joy::joy::joy:

I did ignore them. I just found it annoying, because like you said I’m telling a story. I have always just wanted to make comics and stories with actual plots and adventures where the charcters just happen to be gay. Not enough representation and it’s sad that only porn can get people’s attention. That’s not an accurate depiction of gay life or the hardships and struggles we go through.

This sexulization of gay stories is also why I don’t write about Leabians as my main character. If someone said somthing inappropriate I would just turn into a raging feminist Lesbo, so i just avoid that all together.

This comment was left on my QnA answers episode. Doesn't sound too bad right? Wrong. The girl he's talking about is 14 years old.

The rudest comment i ever got:
"I gotta be honest with you author!the art is so fine that i could easily get over the lousy story line. but heck your english sucks!!! for god's sake at least try to get some help with that! i can't keep reading any further"

This comment really makes me down  i even thought "Should i stop continue my comic in english? I want to reach international market but i think i'm no good because of my english T-T "
But i only mind his comment about my english, i don't really mind what he said about my story LOL

Bah, ignore them! How are you supposed to improve your English if you don't use it?

I don't have a comic up yet and I don't get comments terribly often but this year during Inktober I had a kid telling me my art style was wrong. I apparently didn't meet their chibi standards lol.

Face palm Ehhhhhhhhh.... Figured my style, use of pronouns, characters names and such makes it pretty obvious but I guess not to some people.

holy crap ewww.... this is why i avoid putting underaged characters or kids in my comics, not to mention mines M/M. i'm afraid i'll get something weird and honestly, im mentally not ready for that. not that you shouldn't, you should be able to do whatever you want but, thats what happens if you do. you get weird/ mentally F***** up comments. anyway, just ignore em' at least thats what i do most of the time when i get weird sh** like that.

Honestly when I got a comment similar to this what I did was to search everywhere I could to find an editor, I personally don't take comments like that lightly. if it's in regards to art, screw them. every artist views themselves as developing ( at least I do) but when it comes to grammar, do the best you can to see if you can find someone who can do it for a fair price or you can set it up as a volunteer editing project. and when I did that, luckily I found a really good editor who was willing to do it for me free of charge and I compensated her with a drawn portrait of herself and acknowledgment on my main website and I also linked to her website. you can do something like that. that's if you want to. don't give up. if you can work on grammar do that. but as for art, you will naturally get better the more you draw so screw them. if they like your work they will stay. if they don't they can find something else to read. simple!

i remember when i use to get talked down about my art, i never let it get to me because I LOVE IT and ITS A PASSION. so nothing was going to change that. my hard core fans stayed with me and watched me grow. thats how its suppose to be. and its also ok if you leave because you don't like it. just keep doing what your doing

It's not a bad comment and i don't know if it classifies as 'the most', but it still makes me laugh to this day and it's a lil wtf cause i still don't know whom they were referring to, from all the characters on the page. :joy: :joy: :joy:

This reminds me of all the critiques I got on Deviantart where people linked me to anime pictures as "guides". Because you know, if you're only inspired by it and not drawing anime entirely, you're just wrong.

I'm still forever going to be wtf every time I get a message along the lines of

"Is there a porn version of this series???????"

or

"Is there PORN of this?? I LOVE THIS AND I NEED PORN"

At one point comments like this became a little problematic, as I guess they actually did find some porn fanart of it and linked in in the comments section... and on this particular site I could not delete comments... and the comic was PG and had a LOT of readers under 15 =_=.... I had to harass the busy staff to come and delete it.

Definitely this comment. It was on the very first episode of my comic, and at the time they commented that was already severely outdated art. (it was like a year old by the time she commented). I had already fixed the problems she's pointing out throughout the comic, I'm just too lazy to go to the first episode and fix it. I was coming out of a 3 year art hiatus, so my proportions were off.

Mostly, it's just her comment "maybe tell t hem to eat a few donuts, cuz they look so skinny that it appears as if they were borderline anorexic". Talk about insensitive in general, also, out of date advice.

I've mentioned it before but I've had a commenter imply one of the main characters raped the other in his sleep, as well as saying "o.O looks a little African-y" or something along those lines just because one of the characters was black. Not as bad as the first but it's...definitely questionable wording imo.

Asides from that I really have no other comments that stand out as much as. those two. People are pretty polite/mundane in my comment section surprisingly.

Yeah basically. Thing is if we just copied what we saw there would be no originality! Fun fact this incident also happened on DA hahaha!

I actually don't read comments on my webcomic. Especially on webtoon, because I might read some bad comments and ruin my life. :joy::grin:
