Hello you guys I'm publishing my comic August 31 :

Vanilla Society is a crazy tv reality show who don't hesitate to push ethical boundaries to keep the viewers tuned in ...even if it means hurting it's contestants....

I'm just wondering  what do you guys think about music in comic? I'm thinking about adding a little Playlist (written to not disturb the viewer peace) at the start ofeach chapter , I think it's always interesting to find new things to listen to in my opinion but what do you guys think?
Do you like it as a reader?

First congrats on starting your comic soon! About the music it's not as rare as it seems to incorporate music into comics and I've even seen some folks compose songs of their own or commission musicians.

I think the idea of having a playlist at the start of a chapter is great since it'll allow those interested to go and listen to them while reading which can always help boost immersion in certain scenes. I tend to add music to my comics episodes with the Soundcloud plugin and tend to listen to the songs people have added to their comics so I'm certain there will be those who enjoy it

Best of luck :tapa_pop:

I always used to have a little "Song of the Week" with my comic updates. It was usually a YouTube link to some song that I thought fit the scene or had inspired it. Not sure if anyone really cared about it, but it was fun.

Now I just make playlists for my stories and usually never share them with anyone haha.

Anyway, just leaving a link to a playlist isn't hurting anything, so I'd say go ahead and do it. It's not like you're forcing people to listen to it if they don't want to.

I am creating songs to represent my characters and story events since it's about a rock band!
However I heard that some reader don't like to listen to muisc in comics - cuz they are listening to their own music or read it in a public place without headpohes. So I make a separate episode with lyrics and some promo art related to the song whcih can be easily skipped or found later - I also add a little :musical_note: icon on the thumbnail so readers know what to expect and can always return to it.

there is also option to turn auto play music on/off so it should not be a problem

Thank you so much ! And thank you for your answer it is very helpful and I agree it can add a little something to the story you are trying to tell !

Yep it doesn't hurt and it's fun to find :joy:I can't help but think about a part in my story when I listen to music now lol , the song of the week is a really good idea I might steal it from you ! Cause it's one song doesn't hurt anyone to go check it ,I like that !

You are very imaginative ! Good luck with doing that must be a lot of work !!! But I'm sure it will be worth it !!
And u know! I've read on forums here that readers don't like to listen to music cause they listen to their own ! Oh well we will see thank you for your feedback

Yeah it was fun because in a lot of cases it was songs that I'd like...conceptualized a certain scene to YEARS before I was able to draw it, so it was cool to share that part of my creative process with people. But yeah, feel free to steal the idea haha.

I'm really liking the ideas in here.. having a playlist. That sounds like a lot of fun!

In our story there's a big emphasis on music. I'm wanting to portray it in a visual way, since obviously comics do not usually have sound associated with them. I'm using a lot of abstraction to try and get the same feeling visually.

I commissioned some music, though we are still waiting on that. We have lyrics we can use at least, but are hoping for recordings we can actually play for people at some point.

I mean, I have a song sitting here waiting to set the End of Chapter One to. I'm quite excited about it.
