awe I remember my first table experience I was so lost and drew the mc of the comic I was making at the time. it looked awful I still have it on DA9 lol

haha, so relatable. My 1st experience was so long ago. But I remember being pissed off and thinking I wasted my money cuz tablets suck.
Which resulted in not using the tablet for months, too. And going back to scanning my art.

Then way later a friend told me she got the same tablet and loved it, saying it was the best thing ever. So I started to use mine again and eventually got used to it and shared her opinion xD

My first tablet experience was me playing around, trying to get a good feel for the tablet. I had a Graphire 3 that I had bought 10 yrs ago, but never used it for what it was intended for, so when I bought my Intuos Pen & Touch I left it in the box for about 5 months(I had bought it to color with in Photoshop but was intimidated by the whole process; the thing that made me break it out was acquiring Clip Studio & the aspect of inking digitally). I'd do small little doodles, analyze my work and try to improve on it. The first actual digital tablet stuff that I posted was this on DeviantArt:

I had fun drawing and inking around- which helped build my confidence in coloring with the tablet.

My very first experience with digital arts (I dont even know these things exist. Guess I'm just stupid) is when I figured out that you can draw stuff on an android phone and post it online a little over than a month ago. I use a cheap stylus pen (it got a WIDE rubber tip) and a month later, I found out that it would be more easier to use my finger since the screen is small, thought it make my palm hurts, for some reason. I'm still trying to learning digital arts (which doesnt looks much good at all) and the supporting apps (I'm using medibang atm) and dreaming for a tab (thats a far,far away dream, lol) since it's impossible to get a paper and the neccesities to draw comic cause my fam is a 'little' s*ck to deal with.

This one I make around the... third week (?) on my phone. Took me forever to make it (I've never gotten around to make the body..., funny that it was not even two weeks ago) I just hope that I'll be able to be faster (I'm as slow as a snail), and better at drawing and making comic.

Wait, why am I ended up rambling? XD
I hope you the same too!

Yay, more traditional artists facing their tablet fears! Your first finalized tablet drawing is looking awesome, Shanny

I'm loving the dragon drawing! it's amazing how you were able to get into real small detail with the scales on your phone! I can imaginne what the full body would be like with those scales, haha.

20 days later

I remember that time too! I was too bad with the tablet (well I didn´t the best now) but was a pretty fun. Im pissed off first but I came to love it.

Congrats! It's funny because I have one since 3 or 4 years ago and I still do not feel comfortable using it (I'm most in the traditional media) even so I love it, I hope you have fun with your tablet

Thanks Bosque! I guess it can be difficult to tame the wild beast(Tablet). ANd even though, I know digital. I still prefer going traditional! So, I'm with you on there xD

5 months later

Oh man, you guys are so good for first time users, I just got my first tablet last week and I've been drawing everyday till my hand cramps and it still looks like a five year old did it. :joy: Still watching tutorials and practicing hard though.

Surprisingly, I was pretty good the first time I drew with my tablet XD

But I think that was because I was used to drawing on the computer beforehand. With both a computer mouse and a computer touchpad

And I was always look at the screen instead of looking down. So when I tested out my tablet this year, it didn't really that much different from drawing on paper XD

Have you tried zooming in a lot & putting the side of your hand on the tablet like a piece of paper?
I notice the more you zoom the more easier it is to draw the desired stroke.

Also, for the longest time, I was hovering my hand on the tablet & I didn't notice I could rest my hand on the side, hahaha.:joy:
