Ok. So I waited months and months to get my comic professionally reviewed and just when they were supposed to do it, they announced that they don’t do reviews anymore. I can get over no donations, not becoming a patron and not buying from my shop, but... I was told by professionals that this review would happen so while I understand they can’t do it anymore, they could have at least fulfilled their last hurrahs. I don’t even care if they roasted my comic. I would have appreciated a review because it helps get the word out there and last time I checked, promises are supposed to mean something.

I am just so angry. I waited and waited just to be told this? Gimme a break.

Is this karma? Did I do something bad to deserve that stringing along?

Also happened to me here on the forums. Someone was offering free reviews, and was doing a decent and thorough job of it...they get to mine, skip it, and promise to come back to it 'shortly'. Never happens. Then they close the reviews down.
Your case was a professional group though--and maybe they weren't so professional to skimp out like that. Guess we just shouldn't have high hopes going for promises not backed by something else.

I'll review it if ya want. Although I'm a beginner and far from a professional, just a new writer trying to be helpful

Alright, so here's the review:

First off, the positives: It has a compelling story and visually pleasing character designs. All of them look full of life and they aren't bland. The story has seriously good character relationships and interactions and nice development. Everyone is well rounded and their motives are clear. They are also distinguishable from everyone else. The dialogue is funny and serious when it wants to be. It's also natural and personality driven, so there's that. Overall, good job.

Then, the negatives: You need to put more backgrounds and stop using the fill tool too much. More often than once I saw these white specks of unfilled space around the lines. It helps if you put a flat color at first then fill in the rest of the colors. Backgrounds are also necessary to get a sense of setting. It's not always necessary, but at least establish where the characters are and don't put so many gray spaces. Gradients or pleasing flat colors are better. Another thing is lineart. I learned the hard way that lineart doesn't have to be the same width through out. Vary the thickness a little. Lastly, just some petty things, work on anatomy and perspective. It really helps in the long run!

That's all I hope this was at least helpful

All of it is helpful and in book two, I improve the background at least.
