Guys, did you know about a YouTuber named MrBeast started a campaign with Arbor Day Foundation to plant 20 million tree?

One dollar = one tree

So if you have some spare dollar you don’t need to use(?), why don’t you help our old earth to gain some of its lost hai-tree?

You can donate and help reach the target of 20 mil here :

You can watch MrBeast original videos here :

Remember guys, even a single tree count. So help if you can. If you can’t, help share the link around! You’re helping by building awareness of the fundraising and who knows, one or two peoples with thicker wallet might be donating too!

@michaelson if this is not allowed fell free to delete it. ^^

It's honestly pretty cool to see MrBeast do this. He's a pretty cool guy from what I've seen in his newer videos. The fact that he roped in a ton of other content creators too was nice.

It's great there are projects like this around!

I know of a similar one:

Several different projects are part of it so you can donate and even choose for which project (so where the trees are going to be planted). How much a tree costs will also depend on that.
And there are even some possibilities to help without donating. E.g. my family and I regularly buy chocolate that gives to the project and hand it out for Christmas and other occasions

Reminder that you can still do something even if you're broke like me! Do you like using Google but wish it would go towards planting a tree with each thing you search up? I got you, fam

It won't go towards the same thing, but hey.. more trees would be nice, right?

I've got this avacado tree that I've been growing froma seed. It's a couple of years old now but still in a pot. My neighborhood doesn't have a community garden or anything like that. Where should plant it?

Things to consider would be:

  • Avocados like full sun, although I've read that for the first couple years after planting they can be damaged if the sun is too intense, so maybe somewhere that's partially shaded while the tree is short, but that will allow full sun when it grows taller. If you can find a place that has lots of morning sun but is more shaded in the mid/late afternoon, that would be ideal. Shade will be more important if you live in a really hot area like Arizona or something.
  • Ideally you want soil with good drainage. As long as the soil isn't mostly clay or hard to dig through and you don't put it in a low-lying / flood-prone area you're probably good. Slopes tend to have better drainage than flat areas. Drainage will be more important if you have a lot of rainfall, especially in the winter when roots are most prone to rot.
  • Unless it's a dwarf tree it will probably get pretty big. The roots could damage pavement if it's planted too close. Also it will eventually litter the ground underneath it with avocados.
  • I'm assuming you're in an area where it can survive outside in the winter, but some avocado varieties can tolerate colder temperatures than others - https://homeguides.sfgate.com/much-coldness-can-avocado-trees-take-55142.html

I live in a very sunny area and my avocado tree grew with no problems! Tho it could be because of the variety, idk if we have the same types of avocados here in South America.

Also, another option to donate if you don't have money is Tabs For a Cause! It's like Ecosia, but it works with ad revenue each time you open a new tab, and it allows you to choose which charity you want to donate to:

If you planted it from a seed you got from an avocado you bought at a grocery store, know that is will most likely never produce new avocados.
I have one, she is doing well in her pot. Avocado trees can actually be house plants if you keep them in a pot, again they will never produce fruit, but it a lovely little tree to keep. If you want a tree for fruit, you will have to find someone who sells fertile trees and definitely have the space for it to grow.
Mine is named Ava and lives on my apartment porch along with Yuri a Japanese maple spout that was gifted to my wife. They will never get big and it’s to warm here for Yuri to turn red, but I try my best to take care of them in their pots.
